Hey everyone! Glad to be here, and looking forward to seeing what this forum has to offer, and what I humbly might offer in return.

As for me....
Mid 30's husband and father of 4 (Newest one a girl born last week)
I have the rare distinction of working both as a civil servant (Appraiser for the County) and most importantly a Servant of our King as a Pastor at a Hebrew Roots Christian church.
I love sports, fellowship, and learning, and I love to preach and teach the Word.

That's the 101 version of me, as I'm sure more of me will be revealed as time goes on.

Blessings to you all!
Kohen (Priest) Matt

It's a little bit different than a mainstream christian church, and definitely different than Judaism. We're very much a typical Christian church in that we teach salvation through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ/Yeshua alone, and not by any works of our own. But we also recognize that the teachings and instructions (Torah) found in the Old Testament haven't been done away with, and they can hold tremendous value and revelation to us today. We delve into the Hebrew language a bit more, keep the Biblical Feast days, observe the Sabbath, eat according to the instructions in the OT, etc, but we do so with the understanding that our salvation isn't dependent on that one bit. If the God who saved me through grace and mercy gave those instructions to His people, it can be an act of love and worship to follow those things physically, but more importantly, spiritually.

It took me a little while to get used to it, and to accept it, but it's been one of the most profound things in my life.

Thanks for asking!
Matt
