Hello CC,

My name is Paul, I'm 25 years old and I live in Sweden. To be honest I don't know enough about this site, if I'm even welcome as just a "seeker", or if this site is for any specific denominations.

I found this forum/chat on Google yesterday because I got this irresistable urge to talk to someone about what I experienced..

I don't identify as a Christian, even though my family is Serbian Orthodox and we celebrate the various traditions each year. I do believe in God and some kind of afterlife, but I have never before believed in a personal God. What I experienced yesterday I cannot explain... I got this sudden "drive" or interest to read up on Jesus Christ and I have a tingling feeling in my stomach (comparable to a crush) since last night that still hasn't gone away.

A married woman from Texas reached out in chat when I said I needed to talk to someone about what I was feeling, and I think her username was Damombomb. I would like to thank her again in this introduction thread for taking her time. When she wrote the sentence that "the Lord is calling you" I almost felt like crying. It was so profound and I hope that there are others here who understand what I am going through.

I'm not really sure what to write here but I guess you want to know more about me. I like to watch TV series (American shows, and Japanese anime), play video games (preferably japanese RPG's, or american FPS games like Call of Duty), hang out with my friends and I also read lots of literature (mostly about philosophy, politics, history and religion).

Also I'm not sure that I will be posting here much, but I feel that what happened last night is just the start of a very exciting journey and I'll most likely be in chat talking to people who've had similar experiences or just people who can steer me in the right direction when it comes to reading the Bible and/or finding Jesus.

Thanks,

Paul

Velkommen!

I am so happy to hear that you feel that way, it is indeed God calling you to have a close and personal relationship with Him. This is the very reason why Jesus died on the cross. The "veil" to the holiest holy is torn, and you can face God freely.

I don't know what kind of relationship you've had with God before, but talk to Him (whether silently or out loud, whatever feels most natural to you). Also, read more about Christ (Mark is a very good start, it is short, and pretty much sums up who Jesus is and why He died for us).

I hope you will be blessed by this site :)

Thank you so much for your reply, wwjd_kilden!

Even your words have a special significance to me, especially this part:
"The "veil" to the holiest holy is torn, and you can face God freely."

The very nice woman I spoke to in chat yesterday recommended John as a start, but of course I will read all of it eventually. I have read the Bible before, but it was with completely different and critical eyes. This time around it won't be with the eyes of a skeptic, but those of a seeker with an open heart.

As of yet I haven't had the courage to start with the New Testament or even speaking to God, because I don't feel that I deserve it... I used to speak to God when I was younger but all of my "requests" were extremely selfish, and since then I have also committed many sins, which makes me feel that I am not ready or worthy yet.

Yes, John is also a very good place to start learning more about Christ :)

The fact that you feel that way makes you all the more worthy

Luke 18:

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Thank you for that, it encouraged me to start reading. I am so glad I found my way to this forum! The Gospel of John is very interesting so far and I feel that the words hold sacred meaning as I read them.

Hi Paul. I am also new to this forum, but I have posted on many Christian forums. My father was from Norway and my mother was from Scotland. Both are currently deceased. I was born in Canada after the war, and have remained in Canada all of my life.

I would like to send you a personal email, with a 'word' copy of my book attached, for you to read. In 2003 I had two visions followed by a dream in 'riddles' (read Numbers 12:6 in the Old Testament...KJV Bible). **edited**
