Hi, I became a Christian almost 6 months ago. I had split from my partner of 16 years a few months earlier and was going through a really low point. I then met a really nice lady who I asked out on a date. We had been out a couple of times when she told me she was a Christian and asked me to come to her church. At first I was very skeptical, i was brought up catholic and hadn't been to church since I was a teenager - i am now 35- I had a very dim view of church but was blown away by the very lively worship team, and had never met such a friendly bunch of people!! To cut a very long story short - I became a Christian!! The problem I am having now is the premarital sex issue! We did discuss this at the beginning of our relationship, it was explained to me how 'it says in the bible' that sexual immorality is a sin. As I was a new christian and was really getting into the word, I assumed this would come to me in time. I have great respect for my girlfriends principles and have agreed to honour this, but the more i study the bible and discuss with other Christians the more trouble I am having with this!

Glad to have you here! AND in the faith! (so happy for you :) ) Like ProphetExcalibur said, there's plenty of people willing to talk/read and such. What exactly is this problem if you feel comfortable talking about it here?

Are you having more trouble with temptation or more trouble agreeing that it's wrong? The closer a person walks with God the harder the devil will try to hit him with temptation in areas that he knows you were weak in in the past. Cling to God's law and the promises from Him that He will lead, guide, and strengthen you.

Hey Newchristian,

The above quote probably strikes many people as odd.

The bible is very clear about sex, and that it only has a place within marriage.

Who are you talking to, and what are you reading, that is making this confusing?
Why don't you explain who, or what, is confusing you.
What is creating confusion?
