Greetings brethren.

I've been feeling the need to be among fellow believers and where I live there is not a lot of us.

So, a little about me.

I am married. I met my wonderful wife on a site not unlike this one, which unfortunately, has since disappeared.

This is my second marriage. My first marriage failed because I was not a good husband.

I am the father of three wonderful adults and two, soon to be three wonderful grandchildren.

I am fifty nine years old and I live with my wife in northern Alberta Canada where I make a living doing road maintenance.
Snowplow operator and pot hole filler. ;)

The Lord brought me to my knees in January of 1992. Before that I wanted nothing to do with Christians or the Bible.
I did not drink or do drugs but I was a habitual lair, I cheeted on my first wife, I swore like a sailor, and I did other things I don't even like to admit to myself.

So here I am, feeling far from God yet knowing He is here with me and always will be.

Thus I seek out fellowship with fellow believers, to encourage, to learn from, and maybe even to offer a little help of my own.

I use the handle plowman, but my friends call me Jim.

May God bless you all.

Just got off shift.

Hey ProphetExcalibur, I'll head on down in the spring, with my pail of asphalt and my shovel. ;)

I showed my wife this site so now she is also a member. We look forward to getting to know some folks here, and hopefully we can form lasting relationships, here, even though we may never meet in person.

We made a few long term friends from the previous site, where we met, so I have faith that we will make many here.

And BTW, if any of you are traveling through this area, we have a prophets room.

I am glad we found this community.

Hi Jim and what a wonderful testimony to God's love and grace and how he restored and is restoring you into the full and complete human being He always wished you to be. It is so great to hear how He worked through all the things of your life to bring you out of the darkness and all that de-humanized you and brought you back to His heart and gave back all that the ravages of sin and evil took :) , thank you for such a uplifting story :D

I pray that God works through you to bring His healing and restoration to many in this forum and elsewhere, and I hope you find this place to be a warm, welcoming and loving fellowship that edifies and builds you up :)

God bless and Welcome :D

Thank you NightRevan.

God is amazing, not just because He loves us, but His creation itself declares His glory.

I had read that long ago, when I was a Kid but never really understood until after He brought me to my knees.

Then slowly, over time, I began to notice the intricacy and beauty of the world around me.

I discovered flowers I had not noticed before, flowers that were wholey dependent on other creatures for their survival.
Animals and birds that spread seeds and even cultivated the soil so that plants could colonize new ground and grow in places too hard for their roots, before the animals did their part.

At night I look up and see the stars and remember that God hung those stars, I see the dancing Northern lights and know that God is directing their dance.

I see the rains fall and forest fires clear old dead forests. I see once barren ground where man cleared away all of God's handiwork, come to life again once man is gone.

How I missed all that before the Lord opened my eyes is a mystery to me. How could anyone not see that there has to be a creator! I didn't, until He set me free.

Now I love to capture what i see on film. My pictures do not o justice to what God has created, but they are beutiful to my eyes. :)

Anyway. I'm so glad to have found this site, and glad to meet you. God bless you all.
