I am New Here Glad to find a site that promotes uplifting Sister & Fellow Believers
Good Morning! As you can see my name is PlowWoman and yes, I am married to Plowman. We live in Canada however the flag, where ever it is, that may show by name is the flag of the Unites States of America. That is because that is where I am from and I did not want to confuse anyone - if the governments permit dual citizenship, when the time comes, I plan to become a Canadian Citizen too. For the time being I am a very happy Permanent Resident of Canada.
I came to know Jesus as a child as the age of 6 BUT as I grew my life wandered far from God. In 1985 I rededicated my life to Jesus and then HE really came alive to me. Understanding when I am in His Will and not in His Will became clear after that day. Prior to that day I just told everyone I was a Believer but I had never really embraced God as the head of my life. What a difference it made.
I have been married 5 yrs and 7 months but only living in Alberta 4 yrs and 8 months. It is a long story but the best way to tell it is that when we got married my husband knew I had to return to the States to complete an assignment with my job which I had asked to work on. Both of us felt that it would not honor God to just up and leave a project with only about 15 months left by the time we married. God was good. He had them lay me off the first week of May 2009. I packed up my house into storage and drove home to Alberta.
My crossing at the Alberta, Canada border is something, in my opinion, that only God could have orchestrated. I hear stories of I had to do this and they made me do that and this was not correct, etc.
I crossed the border driving having never done that before so I was as naive as they come to "international travel by car."
I think 3 hours or so after I first entered the Canada Border Services Building I walked out with my car imported, a list of what was to follow me on file once I had the proper documents to stay in Canada and a Visitor Status that gave me over a year to file the necessary documents to be sponsored by my spouse to be a Permanent Resident. I had a car packed to the gills at the border and while I know I had nothing illegal in that car He protected that car and my energy level and we both were blessed by Canada Border Services to be welcomed into Alberta.
Since coming here my husband and I started fellow-shipping at a small Church in the town nearest us. Our group of Believers there may be few but the love for God is great.
I was a Sunday School Teacher for over a year but stepped down due to self induced burnout, I believe. I still assist with supplies and fill ini teaching but we are praying for another teacher to help with our children. They are not a large number but each one of them needs to know how much God loves them and that He died on the cross to Save them from their sins.
I spend time each day on FaceBook staying in touch with long distance friends from high school, family in the States and then many online friends made through the site where my husband and I met BUT I don't get to spend a lot of time with fellow Believers on a daily basis. THAT I miss. Even sitting at my computer with a cup of tea or coffee and a sister Believer at her computer miles away is fellowship that does feed me, I have found. I miss that.
THAT is one of the reasons I came to this site with my husband and I also hope I can contribute a bit of wise old woman stuff to younger women, as they ask.
So I am happy to make all of your acquaintances and so you know up front - YES, I am a woman of many words. I am not a woman who cannot keep her counsel but if you ask me about something and I actually do know about it - Biblical or not you can expect I will respond with more then Yes, Good, Have a nice time, That happened to me, etc I think ya get my drift.
We do have a home which I am supposed to maintain *looks around to see how up or not up said maintenance is* and remembers - dishes in the sink from last night. DO NOT TELL MY MOM!!! I slept, woke up and my arms did not fall off because the supper dishes were not washed last night. God gave me a husband who, when I do this does not go off the wall crazy, WHEW. I like to crochet and the item I make most is cotton dishcloths. They are fun, everyone can use them and we can get new ones once a year, or more often if needed, and I always have a spiffy cloth to use. I know seems like a small thing to a lot of folks but during the winter months one must find something constructive to do with their hands and we can only and only need so much baking in this house - THUS came the dishcloths.
That is me in a nutshell.
And now it is time for me to bring our dog back into the house so she won't be cold........so talk at you later.
