Hello to you.

One day when I was reading in my bible three words in a verse, not my favorite verse as the sign up asked, but there is just something for me in the three words,

I love you

I have only seen those three words in that very order one time in the bible, have you seen it more than once?

John 3.16 has all the profound elements of a body of theology. BB Warfield said that the measure of God's love is seen in the greatness of the One given.

John 3:16 is a great verse and very popular, as it should be. I bet most everyone has it memorize.

[h=3]Psalm 18:1-3[/h]New Living Translation (NLT)

[h=3]Psalm 18[/h][h=4]For the choir director: A psalm of David, the servant of the Lord. He sang this song to the Lord on the day the Lord rescued him from all his enemies and from Saul. He sang:[/h][SUP]1 [/SUP]I love you, Lord;
you are my strength.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and he saved me from my enemies.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.
Ok maybe it's not my favorite but it is the shortest.

I am a vet this verse is not my favorite but very close to my heart. John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

I found seven places where the phrase, "I love you." is used in the Bible.
First in Judges 16-15, then in Psalms 18-1, then in Isaiah 43-4, next it appears three times in the 21 chapter of John where Jesus asks Peter if he loves Him. And finally it appears in 2Corinthinas 12-15.

Only once does it appear where God is speaking to people, all other examples are of people speaking to other people or to God.

Here God is speaking to Israel and through them to us.

Isaiah 43:4 Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life.

I second that, blue_ladybug ! Thanks for sharing, cpaztx :)

Plowman, that is awesome ! Guess what, I came across one today as I was stuying love, with a friend. How ever did I miss it before! I am stuying bible based love, in sense as in Godly, that is why I asked primarily. Thanks for your post :)

Something about that 2 cor chapter & 12:15, for me. I think I will spend some time searching it.

2 Cor 11:11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
