Hello everyone! I'm Sarah and obviously I'm new here! I am just rediscovering my faith after a long time. I think things are much different for me in this area now that I am no longer an adolescent. (Not that thats any excuse).

Recently a movie very dear and close to my heart was brought back into my life since I saw it in theatres. While I know The Passion of the Christ is a very controversial movie, I absolutely adore it. As a person who doesn't come from a very loving, supportive, or religious family. I think it is nice to be reminded that someone (aka: Jesus) loves you that much. I know you can go to the Bible to read this but its nice to see it. I know I'm not describing it all that well but it is kind of hard to explain.

I am simply looking to speak with wonderful like minded people. And make some new friends along the way :D

Hey sarah! welcome to CC :) i love that movie as well, especially the part where mary looks at Jesus falling under the weight of the cross and the beatings, and she has an emotional flashback, seeing him as a little boy falling, then she snaps into reality and starts running towards him to lift him back up. That moment is the most powerfully emotional moment for me, i ALWAYS cry when i see that. A mother's instinct, which transcends all other things.....So beautiful :)

Hi Sarah and welcome. I'm kinda sorta new as well here as I've converted to Christianity very recently. It's great that you're doing the same. Feel free to chat me up whenever you like. I hope this site will be a positive experience for you.

Thank you for replying! Yes that part makes me cry too. Though I have been watching it a lot lately. Almost obsessively? And I have to say every time I do I cry more than the time before. The movie really makes me think and want to be a better person really.

And thank you too Reformed_Goth for replying! Congrats on your new found love in the Lord! I cant say I've just converted because I was raised Christian. This is all about finding my way back to God and while I may falter never giving up. And always trying to be a better person.

Hi SarahMoore, good to see you on the forums; God bless His Word to you. It's good to remember that even beyond the emotion of the Cross of the Lord Jesus, we may understand that He was 'once offered to bear the sins of many' (Hebrews 9.28); by one offering He has perfected for ever those that are sanctified' (Hebrews 10.14).

What the Lord Jesus did for sinners at the Cross in His love and grace was truly remarkable: a perfect work which God completely accepts for time and eternity on the behalf of all who love Him and trust Him! :)
