There were 14 generations from the first begat until the carrying away into babylon and 14 more generations until christ was born. Did anything significant happen 14 generations after that? How many months is a generation?

Nothing is recorded in the Bible.. The scriptures where completed by about 100 AD About 70 years afterthe execution of Jesus .. So only one generation after Jesus is recorded..

Well a generation is supposed to be 40 years .. So doing the calculations 14 x 40 = 560 years

30 AD + 560 years = the year 590 ad ...

"Generations" in this passage are not time-related. They're "father/son"-related (Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob, etc.).
"... and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations." Christ didn't beget a son, so there weren't any generations after Him. He's the end of the line; look no further.

Typically a generation is considered to be a 40 year time period. Or, 480 months.
