I just saw another in the same chapter in verse 64 where the high priest is roasting Him and asked Him flat out of He was Christ. He once again said “Yeah you said it” and they don’t get it. They freak out instead. Amazing
Probably because they were trying to trap him and were amazed he had the gall to say it was so. I mean even if one is a prophet you have seen how people react when you just outride declare that right? Imagine declaring to be the savior of the world especially when so many hate your guts

And a third time in front of Pilate.

Matthew 27
11Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, who questioned Him: “Are You the King of the Jews?”
“You have said so,” Jesus replied.

I love how even though he knew it was an obvious trap question Jesus was not hesitant to walk right in it and be like yep you said it.

I agree, like Judas knew what he was doing, Jesus didn’t fall for the not I statement and pretty much said I didn’t say you where not but you said you are not and the others disciples I think took that as saying he wasn’t the one, so the all started saying it surely not I but the answer he gave them was a little different in that yes it is one of you twelve, if that makes sense.

There are two things I don't understand about the situation. first is what on earth made Judas think he could act innocent as if Jesus wouldn't know, I mean he was there when the Pharisee's tried to outsmart Jesus on multiple occasions and saw that you just can't outsmart Jesus. And second why Judas got busted and went with it anywways I mean if I got caught like that I would be like umm maybe this was a bad idea... I mean yes it says satan entered him but if he hadn't been posessed I wonder if he would gone through with it

Maybe he just couldn’t help it because of the guilt, knowing Jesus knew but the others did not at that time, though I would agree it’s perplexing

Yeah that is honestly the only thing that makes sense to me, unless of course he was just that greedy and wanted that silver

Greed can over power common sense with some not all but some, like hoarding toilet paper, I’m I to believe there was no Christians buying more than they needed.

I love it when a verse I have read before suddenly becomes a new meaning to what I had once believed it to be. That is the beauty of Scripture. It will enlighten you each time you read it over and over.
I have found that this is true for me as well.

I was just reading part of the resurrection story, and I noticed something! I remember there are verses where Jesus talks about Judas betraying Him. He said that although the betrayer thought he was giving Him over, but that it wasn’t that way. Jesus was choosing to let Himself be captured. And I found another interesting verse that kinda suggested that again.

In Matthew there is a verse where Judas asks if he’s the one that’s gonna betray Him, and He pretty much says “Yeah you said it.” HE LITERALLY TOLD JUDAS THAT HE WOULD BETRAY HIM. But you notice that no one reacts? No one says “How dare you betray our Teacher!!” or tries to jump him from across the table. Why? Because Jesus didn’t want them to. Because God the Father shut the ears (or at least the thoughts of what that means) to the men at the table. He willed Jesus to save the world, and Jesus willed to do the Father’s will.

Just interesting
In reading the accounts in all the gospels, there was a lot of discussion among the whole group. And if you've ever been to a large gathering over a meal, there tends to be more conversations than just one.

Here are the records:

Matthew 26:

20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

Mark 14:

18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.

19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?

20 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

The way Matthew and Mark record the event, it seems odd that no one reacted as you state in the OP.

Now look at Luke:

Luke 22:

21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

23 And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

So, it appears there was discussion about the betrayal and then a sidetrack into who would be greatest.

And John:

John 13:

21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.

23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.

25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.

29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

So putting all the records together, Jesus told His disciples He would be betrayed and, while not naming names, He gave hints and the disciples could have figured it out if they had paid attention. However, they argued with each other over who would be greatest. And when Jesus gave Judas the sop (the clue He warned His disciples about), they were so distracted that some thought Jesus was telling Judas to go buy some things to give to the poor.

I found it a third time!! 27:11 they do the exact same thing: someone asks if He’s the Messiah/King of the Jews and He says that it’s as they say. And still they were so irate and rage filled and just totally offended that they didn’t register that mentally. This time it was in front of Pilate. Man.

The OP references Matt 26:25. In Matt 26:25, Jesus was having a meal with His disciples ... a group of believers who were enjoying a meal together with various conversations going on. Should the disciples have listened more attentively? Sure. Hindsight is better than foresight. He told them He was going to be betrayed ... and by whom He would be betrayed ... they didn't listen.

In Post #20, the scripture reference is Matt 26:64. Different group of people ... total unbelievers (notwithstanding the fact that He was standing before the high priest, elders, and all the council - vs 59) ... religious folks, but not believers sad to say.

In Post #32, Matt 27:11, Jesus was standing before Pilate. I believe there was a mixed group of His disciples (believers) and unbelievers. The chief priests and elders stirred up the people (vs 20). The voices of those opposed to releasing Barabbas were drowned out by the crowd who were stirred up by the chief priests and elders. And so they requested that a robber be released, leaving Jesus to be crucified.

Yes quite a parable . Mutiny on the Bountiful One.

Kiss the Master, a sign to bind the mutineer (Judas ) They instead turn around and bind the master . Cutting off the ear (hearing) of the high priest rather than binding Judas. Jesus touched the man's ear and healed him . (wrong ear not of Judas .)

He kissed them with the kiss of death. I AM He twice and they fell backward moved by the judgment of the Father . A sign using Judas to signify the judgment of Christ .The tongue of life and death

John 18:5-7 King James Version (KJV) They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
