Why should I fear God, I only fear hurting God's feelings same with Jesus and as I would my best friends.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 :)

On the other hand: There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because
fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.

Once the mindfully comprehends who God is then it reveals why God is worth our worship. When we learn for example by God's Word He created the expanse of the universe and by that same power consumed Pharaoh's army beneath the Red sea. God is the giver, sustains, and taker of life. The only reason we wake up is that God permits it. God is both loving but also hates wickedness and His wrath is no joking manner. Hell is no joking manner. God deserves much respect but He also wants us to balance that with His human example in Jesus Christ.

The fear of the Lord is caring more about what God thinks of your behaviour than what men, including you, think. It means making choices that are right in His eyes. When a man does this, over years he learns wisdom.
God's feelings do not get hurt as easily as you might think. But endeavor to please Him with your choices, especially in how you treat others.

Welcome to CC and nice to meet you! I think in the context of fearing God, it's because He has the power to send us to eternal bliss or not. If we are born again Christians hopefully we don't have to worry about that when we're in obedience: to love God and then love our neighbors as ourselves. God bless you and your family!

Amen, sister.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Welcome to CC, Grandfather!:)

By fearing God, it means we respect Him.

I respect The Real God but am not scarred one bit. The Real God loves all its children in ways we cant even imagine. The Real God is fair and just always to all its children. If you stay on the right path you will have nothing to fear! By the right path I mean living with love, compassion, kindness, mercy and acceptance of others in mind.
