There is a Day coming in which God will test our works, our deeds, our preaching, our teaching, our worship—everything, by fire. If your preaching, your teaching, your prayers, your charity are according to the will of God, then you will see what has been built standing the test. But that which is built of wood, hay or stubble will be burnt up.

Once a very wealthy lady, who was a good Christian, dreamed that she went to heaven. There among many beautiful mansions, she saw a particularly grand mansion in one corner. Seeing an angel she enquired to whom the mansion belonged, and he told her that it belonged to her serving-maid, who washed her vessels and made her fire every day.

When she heard this, she felt very happy, and said to herself: ‘If my servant woman has such a big mansion, then mine must be even greater’. A little further on she saw a hut, and asked to whom that belonged. ‘Madam, that belongs to you,’ said the angel. She was so angry. ‘That is not just,’ she cried, ‘you are giving my servant, who cannot even read, such a big mansion, and the building you have for me is just a small hut of straw. Why is that?’

And the angel said to her, ‘Madam, we are only building with the material which is sent to us from earth. That woman is sending us gold and silver, and with such material we are building that mansion. You are sending us only wood, hay and stubble and with it we are only able to build a hut.’ Then she said: “But I have given thousands of rupees to charity. I attend worship every Sunday and I am on all the Committees. Every Christmas Day I give large gifts. I built that Hospital, that School Hall. How can you say I am only sending wood, hay and stubble?”

And the angel told her : ‘You are doing everything before the eyes of men; you are not serving God. You are doing all these things in order to be regarded as a great woman, and to get a name for yourself. That poor woman, she is only your servant, but look and see how faithfully she serves you, and how she prays day and night for your family, and for every guest that comes into your house. Because of her prayers many souls have been saved. You, however, can only talk and talk about your mutton and chicken dishes, and have no thought for God’s message.’ In this way all that you are doing is to give hay and straw to God’.

****

Ponder over this story. Search your heart, and your life. Are you building with hay and straw? This is addressed to evangelical Christians. Don’t waste your life on the trivial things of this world. Focus on Christ and the things above, Col 3:1, 2.

Hope sincere seekers of God and Christ will be convicted by this!

This really is very cool, Charish. I find it hard to believe that someone could write this . . . but doesn't understand what it means to ask, seek, and knock . . . and never stop. I think that you clearly do, and I also think that you just might relate to what is below. And thank you, for this opportunity to share out thoughts. I hope I don't over-step, below.

What is significant about this story (that you have masterfully crafted), is the surprise by the one who felt she deserved more than her servant. The "world" is so backward, and the "church" is so filled with the "world." I once belonged to this world, and I know what the difference is in terms of what that difference actually "feels" like. When a person belongs to the world and then Transformed to become more like Christ, we reach a point where the Transformation has becomes so distinct and vast, that we notice that we have actually become a new person. We can tell the difference in so many ways. We literally feel it; we think differently now. We probably even walk and carry ourselves differently. And what did we do to achieve this new way of thinking? I did nothing. Instead, I was overtaken by the Lord . . . He found me in the Arizona Desert and consumed me. I was encapsulated within the Raw, Almighty Power of God exactly as perhaps those in the Fiery Furnace. The boys were not harmed by the extra hot, blazing Furnace . . . nothing was even scorched. Shadrach and the others were completely protected by the Lord seemingly as I had. I told everyone after this miraculous even that had been given to me, that even if a nuclear bomb had gone off, I would have been protected. I was completely within the Spirit, held in the Right Hand of Salvation, the Right Hand of Christ.

I am fortunate; most fortunate. And I can testify that when the Lord takes hold of a person as He took hold of me, there is no turning back. I found out that I breathe because God allows it. I found out that I am absolutely zero. I am as nothing as nothing could be. And after having felt this Power, and after it being made clearly known that He has Power and I do not . . . I don't mess around anymore. None. I have not been totally Sanctified, but am well down that road with only minimal sin remaining. My point? We [think] we know what's going on. We [think] we understand the Power of God. We [think] that we understand His Holy Purpose, and we [think] that we are True Children of the Lord . . . but that only applies to the Remnant, the very Few who have been Chosen. So . . . are we really serving the Lord . . . or ourselves? I have no desire to serve myself outside of self-defense and protection. Other than this, I expect to suffer and continue to suffer for my Powerful, Almighty God.

Your story is beautiful because it outlines blind eyes, deaf ears, and a lack of True Understanding from those who said, "But Lord! We did all of these things in your Name!" And Jesus said, "Away from me, for I never knew you." Those people were, and those in the future will also be shocked and surprised by their being rejected by Christ. We need to take heed to your powerful story. Thank you!!

Delighted with your powerful testimony! I too had a dramatic conversion experience; I called it my ‘Road to Damascus’ experience. No, I had no visions! But within a few hours, that day 30 years ago, I came out of darkness into God’s marvellous light! 🌷🌷🌷

I didn’t share my testimony for many years because it was so dramatic that I felt, by describing all the incidents that took place 30 years ago, I would be drawing attention to myself. I was saved by giving glory to God!

And I continue to give glory to God in all that I do, despite my occasional lapses and failures.

I still have a long, long way to go to understand my great and loving God! He is always beyond human imagination and expectation. He takes us through fire and water, but He brings us into an abundant place. Psalm 66:12.

I know my shortcomings. But Phil 1.6 comforts me always. It is not in me; it is always in HIM!

Charish . . . I feel your Spirit in your words. And your words are more than knowledge, but they are the explanation of your experiences. I know that you believe, deeply, in all that you believe about the Bible. I can tell that you have been "Known" by the Lord. And it is amazing that you relate to the Damascus Road experience . . . as do I. And as you know, there is no experience quite like this one, that young Saul had, and I already know that you are fully aware that no one, not one person in the Bible, ever had such a remarkable Transformation. Nebuchadnezzar certainly had a wild transformation, but the colossal change that took place from Saul to Paul is exactly the result of the Power of God. Paul is a fulfillment of Ezekiel 11 and 36. Here is a description of what happened to young Saul. I'm sure you know it well . . .

Ezekiel 36:25-27 KJV - "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

Paul knew what he was "talking about" when he wrote of Transformation in Romans 12:2. Paul's life exemplified the Ezekiel passages. Unbelievable. And like you, I never saw anything nor heard anything in my Powerful experience with God. I just felt His Raw, Consuming Power.

You are quite an interesting fellow, you know. :)

This is a much nicer thread to read wow my prayer must have been answered.
I like the story but i do have my concerns about it.
The lady had a dream, was it a real dream she went to heaven as i wonder how gold and silver can be sent to heaven in a physical form.
Maybe the gold and silver repersents a giving spirit in the heaven and the gold and silver is repersenting purity (A heavenly light of colour) and a reward for a person doing everything for the lord.

But i cant help but feal sorry for the other lady who built a hospital could her dream some how have been the ememy to make her feal like a failure.

I know the enemy likes to make you think your worthless and a failure and i have had one to many dreams that i know have come from the enemy.

Dont be alarmed but the enemy is walking around as an angel of light.

It leaves doubt in my mind because surely there is no disapointment in heaven.
As going to heaven is the greatest reward and the greatest reward of all.
This dreams speaks about going to heaven to be punished surely your sins are paid for once you go to heaven.

I won’t respond here, because I have a couple of hounds baying after me. Almost like gunning for my blood.

I can’t help it, if I raise the hackles of those who feel exposed by the truth. The truth cuts like a knife, or sword. Heb 4:12

I do wish there were more Christians here who had a real encounter with the Lord! The experience is humbling, to say the least!

Why do you tolerate people coming after you if you're taught to shake the dust from your feet? I currently have 19 on my ignore list. Let them go, good sir. Find peace in your heart, and let them go.

You are right. I am ignoring them and their vicious comments.

I have peace in my heart; am not troubled in any way. But I do need to spend time alone with God! CC is taking up too much of my time.

Wow this is a public forum where by people are free to quote.

im sorry but the dream is a lie from the enemy, you dont get taken to heaven to be made to feal like a failure.

Imagine waking up everyday in a straw house in heaven knowing that you failed as a christian.

I just cant see that and if the truth of this offends you here to the point where you feal the need to call me names then its your selfs who have the issues not me.

Heaven is a place of peace not a place to remind you of failure.

Timothy im not a hound and im not some peace of dirt to brush of your feet.
Thats not of the spirit.
How can a person asume i have no truth in my heart that doesnt even know me ?
Should i be offended by that ?
Well im not.

I will pray for you timothy as your going to be led astray by theese doctrins that are coming from the enemy..

I will pray that charish stops his endles abuse towards christians and that he gets over him self as hes obviously got issues from not being seen as a christian himself.

As for my self i will pray that i dont let your remarks effect my good nature and spirit.

I love it! Why? Because of how the masses completely misunderstand the simple things that you're trying to communicate, much like this fictitious story that you have wonderfully created, yet is wildly misunderstood. Until the Lord changes the thinking patterns of those reading yours and my Work (the Work of God), there will continue to be contention. That is the spirit of the Devil, to cause contention. Or, perhaps it is Jesus causing this great division Himself! ha!

Luke 12:51 NLT - "Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other!"

Interesting . . . so if Jesus came to cause this division, then perhaps you and I need to rejoice that these divisions are here! This prophecy is being fulfilled within our very lives! How is this not beautiful?! And - I know that you understand these things, too.

It seems that when I become emotional, it causes me to say or even do things that I don't particularly want to do. This is why I want to live out my idea of what Moses was like. I often think about Moses, and how gentle he must have been throughout most of his life. Or Abraham! Abraham also has a kindred spirit about him that I really admire. I want to be like these men. I want to be consistently calm . . . consistently Holy, Righteous.

We, Mr. Charish . . . are going to improve! We are going to get better at who we are because we are being directed by God to do this! I want to change, and I need your partnership. God sends us to each other as helpers, and I need your help in this way!

I must say; this is a great way to start my day. :)

Charish, in a way, is hurting . . . and you cast knives and stones. Why? Is this the reflection of Christ?

When a brother or sister is hurting or is bothered, a True Christian will hurt alongside that brother or sister. We have Love in our hearts for those who belong to the Body of Christ. We are peaceful, Loving, and kind to each other.

Would you like to follow this model with me?

I agree with this but i dont agree with what you just wrote and i can not follow a model that believes they have the power to Judge other christians.

I can not follow a model that uses scripture to condem another christian.
All that Jesus wrote was spiritual to.. Jesus would not want us to cause division.
The word of Jesus will cause division because it will take time to fully settle on sinners.
That is what i get from that scripture.
I dont get that Jesus will cause division to devide christians or to devide people from his love.
And i will not follow a model from men i will follow a model from Jesus and i certanly wont follow a model of men encouraging people to carry on in ignorance.

As allway may the lord keep you both and bless you..

But you, yourself, have completely misjudged this person. Be careful.

"And i will not follow a model from men i will follow a model from Jesus and i certanly wont follow a model of men encouraging people to carry on in ignorance."

Unbelievable. I have sadness in my heart for you. May the Lord change your Heart; may He fulfill His Promise to you immediately, if not sooner.

I understand. You are allowed to write, "to carry on in ignorance." Those words are NOT an insult, but mine are.

I'm sorry, de-emerald, but you will have to be added to the Ignore List. This is to be a peaceful place, not a home of finger-pointing.

I Truly wish you the best.
