John 14:12 (NLT): "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father."

It might seem daunting to think that Jesus expects us to do the same and even greater works than He did while He was on the earth. Especially when we only think of our humanity compared to the supernatural power that flowed in and from Him. The beautiful revelation is that Jesus was fully human while on earth. He grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man. He obtained power and insight from spending time with His Father. He was completely dependent on Him for instruction, direction, and power! Being filled with the Holy Spirit is what led Him to be at the right place, at the right time, every time.

Since His ministry was very practical, it makes it easy to imitate Him. He ensured that we would be successful in following after Him and yield the same results He had. He was subject to the same struggles, trials, and temptations that we face so that we can never say He can't relate to our humanity. Since He made fellowship with His Father and total dependency on the power of the Holy Spirit the key to success in ministry - we can too! The New covenant we have through the finished work of the cross secures this for us! Just as He is now - the resurrected, victorious Jesus - so are we in this world (1 John 4:17)! It's time to imitate Jesus and see Him do the same work through us!
Thanks,
JESUS IS LORD.
