Governments ARE the people
Tell that to North Korea, China, etc. Not even in the USA really. They have ever represented the majority of the people I know.
But hey man bow down at the alter of the government all ya want.

For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’
“Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’
“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
“And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”
Matthew 25:42-46....

remember this when a politician wants to cut Social Security, Medicare or Food Stamps. If you support them, you might join them.
I'm just a sojourner here on Earth... and find politics rather boring.
I kinda' let them do whatever God put them there to do... mess things up, and/or administer justice. Either is fine by me. ;)

I have never seen a problem government couldnt make worse.
If government is the answer it must be a very stupid question.
Imagine God warned Israel and tried to convince them not to have a king. And when they insisted he gave them one but restricted the king from doing the priestly duties. And then imagine that after having a king the nation became divided and then fell into the hands of foreigners there after.
Now imagine that in the USA social programs became a bloated dead pig that excuses govco to rip off the American public and a device to ruin the urban community.

No one is going to agree with what you are saying since you quote scripture out of context and try to make a case with God that has nothing to do with reality

Pretty much done seems to be so
You're the one who keeps moving things.

see above post

you are not seemingly aware of OT history and the fact God was in covenant with them

The US is not in covenant with God and neither is in any other country

WE, as believers, are in covenant with God.
Sodom and Gomorrah were not in any covenant with GOD< yet GOD held them accountable. Amazing you cannot see that. LOL

So having a king mean they have no government? You know nothing about government.
The point in question isn't about whether or not there are existing governments. This point has already been ceded. The divide comes with whether the verses concern government. You believe they do. Others disagree with that premise.

OH ON...seems discussing issues with you is a sin. "But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless." Titus 3:9 LOL

if governments obeyed the gospel there would be no ginger and thirst no war no arguing no grudges no greed no adultery no fighting no shame no evil

sadly our government is part of this issue and is governing over this

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭

resulting in this and so we’re given the gospel of our “governor “

“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:19-20‬ ‭

Governments have tried to usurp Gods authority over man they ere like false gods now for instance “ democracy “ is expressly the Will of man expressed in the greatest number it follows mans heart and mind even the elected officials they are elected by the Will of the people

my point is we’ve designed an opposition to God exalting our desires above his already established from the beginning

government in old times was God choosing his king and choosing the kings of other nations for his purpose and will man is in his way causing all of the cosmic conflict we’re in a struggle with our creators Will and we’re going to lose in the End notice the earths governments are gathering together to fight against God ?

“And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of Lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭17:12-15, 17-18‬ ‭

Mans government has began to be opposed to Gods established government over us Jesus Christ and it’s a course man cannot survive

The distinction I draw is I am unable to see the connection between the warning given by Jesus concerning the treatment of the less fortunate to the judgment of 2 cities who were judged for their lawlessness in general and their sexual perversion in particular.
For me there is no link.

:) yeah not even close to what He was talking about. Those are they that come out of the great tribulation and are split sheep and goats. Twisting to fit it something like this is unwise.

Could have just made a thread about VOTE This way and why :) So yes amen how we treat that one believer we don't like at all or those preachers. Yes we are really doing it to Christ.

you made it about politics though . what do you think voting is

Sodom and Gomorrah were not in any covenant with GOD< yet GOD held them accountable. Amazing you cannot see that. LOL
what is amazing is your ability to tell yourself it is everyone else who doesn't understand when it is really just you.

OH ON...seems discussing issues with you is a sin. "But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless." Titus 3:9 LOL
I am sorry to tell you that until you man up and take responsibility for yourself, quit blaming others for your situation and ranting about how bad churches are , things will not change for you

YOU are accountable. God does not accept ....but joe and sam and sarah and anna made me do it waa waa waaa

How so? Republicans push for ending Social Security, Medicare and Food Stamps.
Even if that were true, and I support ending or amending those programs, that is irrelevant to you disgustingly saying republicans don’t care about the poor.

You apparently have no clue as to the death and misery that socialism has caused for 100 years.

yeah well, it's all pretty much 'pou'

Israel was carried off into captivity because of it's sin. Judah same thing.
I was thinking more along the lines of the first century.

-you have Jesus criticizing the rich personally for neglecting their fellow Israelites, and he doesn't criticize the Sanhedrin for not having social welfare programs.
-Jesus criticizes the pharisees for their corban rule that circumvents family taking care of family. (not the government)
-Although Jesus disciples were communal for a while, I don't believe that was an indicator of how he would have ran the government had the temple/rulers submitted to Jesus: I think it was more a preparation for the evangelism that would need to occur from 33-70.
-The government descends further and further into chaos after they reject Jesus, and eventually the Sanhedrin is disbanded.
-The Jews who became Christians escape the destruction of Jerusalem.

With respect to the Assyrian/Babylonian captivity, the criticisms are similar. The land owners are not doing land sabbaths, and not leaving behind food that should be left available to the poor when they harvest. The leaders are drunken and perverting justice. Idolatry is everywhere- but no criticism for not having government welfare programs. The whole country is depraved and Isaiah says this:
Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
