I know this is my first thread, but I came to this site to ask people's opinions.

God has called me to be a prophet, but I don't understand the point of it. What good is it to know what is going to happen? What good is it to tell people what's going to happen?

When I do tell people what is going to happen, they don't believe me and they come up with any explanation they can to say that what God has shown me will happen won't happen.

Deuteronomy 18:21,22 gives the test of a prophet: "[SUP]21 [/SUP]You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” [SUP]22 [/SUP]If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed." I will pass that test when what God has shown me comes to pass. The only problem is that when what I say comes to pass, there will not be anyone alive or on this forum to verify it.

Even the most devout Christians on this forum will not be able to accept what I have to say. God is going to do a thing so great and terrible that you cannot even fathom it, let alone accept it. And again I ask, what good is it for me to tell anyone? I fear, and think I know deep down in my heart, that God has raised me up to be the unheard prophet: a raving madman preaching from the street corner about what He is going to do and that no one will listen or heed my warning. And then it will be too late.
1. How do you know God has called you to be a prophet? Has he used other people affirm that gift in you, not necessarily the future aspect of it?
2. The gift of prophecy in these days is the preaching of God's Word with a specific, challenging application for people's lives that sometimes has a future fulfillment. I was such a preacher for 27 years, but now I''m such a writer. Why do you think you have to get a positive reaction? Go to the Book of Jeremiah, who didn't receive any positive affirmation at all.
3. A preacher's (prophet's) comfort is in Ezekiel 33, where God reassures Ezekiel that once he has proclaimed God's Word of warning and comfort, he is free of responsibility before God. Only the listeners are responsible before him for their reactions. Do you think that you need to begin preaching right away?
4. Why do you think that, if you are called to be a preacher (prophet), you don't need any further education, as it seems from your entry? I suggest that you get a seminary education from a conservative, thoroughly-biblical seminary that will teach you how to interpret the Bible correctly according to its own assumptions. As a result, God may call you to be a world missionary or a preacher in established churches, the calling he put my life.

it's because people put the emphasis on the prophet which when they do the spirit of prochecy is assassinated.
I'd challenge your assertion, but I have to ask first, what is a spirit of prochecy?

THE POINT IS to be obedient to God's calling. WHO CARES if YOU don't see any sense to it??? God does, and YOU'RE gonna tell Him to take His silly gift of ministry down the hall to somebody who cares???

I didn't think ANYBODY could be THAT FOOLISH!!!!

the same thing happened to me. But I wouldn't mind hearing more. 😊
Okay. Here's one from the letter I wrote as a witness to the pastor of the church I attend. He's a close friend and Christian brother of mine.

In April of 2020, my wife left me and took my stepsons. I never even got to say goodbye to them. In April 2021, exactly a year after they had left, I had a dream. I sent Steve an email and detailed it as follows: "In my dream earlier, I awakened in my house alone. I thought of [my ex-wife] being gone for a year and was full of grief and pain from her leaving me so abruptly and never speaking to me again. Then a voice spoke to me and said, "As your wife and sons were cut off from you in a day, so shall America be cut off as a nation in a day. All who go to look for her shall not find her, because she will be no more." Then I woke up."
