I’m a young preacher who was called when I was 17. I announced my calling at the same time I knew I was called. I haven’t preached since announcing my calling, because I haven’t grown in it.

I’ve been wanted to be used by God to preach the gospel, but I have been like Jeremiah, being afraid of the people’s faces. I’m afraid that there are people who don’t want me to preach, don’t believe I’m called to preach and am afraid of peoples opinions of what I may say.

If God has given me the gift of preaching, I want to grow in it and have God use it through me and to grow in boldness and humility in preaching, as well as my speech. Not that I may use words of wisdom, but so my tongue will not stammer.

If God has called you to preach (or anything else), he will provide you with everything that you need to do it.

How have you prepared for your calling?

Not to sound like an ad but…. Just do it….

If you have the desire to preach/teach….go for it. You don’t have to wait for ideal conditions. …those are few and far between. You start with one or a couple people… or if none are available set up a room with stuffed animals and teach to them ….they are a great audience. I know, I did that for two months.

You don’t get the gift ministry of a teacher without moving …that is your believing action.

People don't care what we believe. Do we care what Muslims, Hindus or atheists believe?

However, they are more interested if they know we care for them. If you journey with someone, help them and care about them, you can earn the right to share your beliefs.

I have been a volunteer Street Pastor for fifteen years, we wonder the streets of our town to listen, care and help when we can. We don’t go out to preach, but people know we are Christians by the name on our jackets. And we do earn the right to talk about our faith. They know we are volunteers, they see us out until 3 – 4am helping people.

Today, I read a message from someone we had helped several years ago, he said we had helped him change his life.

friend having to want to used by God to preach and spread the goodness of God is a very Good stage .in time with studying and meditation he the Holy spirit will reveal more of him through you .right now be diligent in service in the field .. I have studied the bible a bit to notice that when it seems God's silent his actually work on time and chance ..David was in the field tending to sheep before he was asked to take bread to his brothers in battle and there was his opportunity for time and chance . mentorship will help ..you can look for a bible believing church to start in service and let God find you when he has work for you specifically .

I am a tad confused. Well you say you know God called you to preach yet you then say "if God has given me the gift of preaching". You know yet then you doubt? I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation [from His wrath and punishment] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior],

Haha I just remembered at around 15y old in this bible study she would say "after everything you been taught you should be out there preaching". I know this preacher that would go out witnessing and sharing and also praying for the sick. He was asked how long before you started to see miracles? He said after about 300. We tend to say we believe but.. in truth some of us don't it can take time. HAHA and Amen to Sis (Magenta) so wise yet so simple "just do it".

There's older song that I 100% believe goes like this "Your desire is the confirmation The destination is there God wouldn't put it in your spirit if it wasn't going nowhere So, set your sights on the promises and don't you be scared 'Cause you desire is the confirmation The destination is there"

If God called you.. He opens all the doors. So toss doubt out the window and as others said.. pray study so forth so on.. great stuff here from the lord

I’m afraid that there are people who don’t want me to preach, don’t believe
I’m called to preach and am afraid of peoples opinions of what I may say.
There will always be those who will not want to hear, who will oppose you, who will mock and scorn you.
Think of what Jesus put up with: all along He had followers, doubters, and those who opposed Him, even
among His own apostles, many of whom are not recorded as being among those who were at His crucifixion.
If you allow those who do not agree with you to stop you from what you believe you are called to do, you will
never advance. I do not say that to discourage you! It is simply a fact. Long ago I remember hearing something
along the lines of, 20% of people will like you, 20% of people will dislike you, 20% of people will love you, 20%
of people will hate you, and 20% of people will be indifferent to you. The point is, you have no control over who
is going to accept you and what you have to say, so best be about your business and focus on Whom you are
serving. How have you been discipled? Do you have a mentor? A home church? A good support network?
