The very first mention of baptism in scripture is where JOhn baptizes in the Jordan river...in water.

It is a specific rule of hermeneutics (called the law of first mention) that the mention of that word ever afterward is the same as the first mention of the word; unless it is specifically specified otherwise.

So, when scripture speaks of baptism, it is speaking of water baptism unless it specifically mentions that it is speaking of Spirit-baptism.

And as for your first statement, which I enlarged above, that is contradicted by Acts 22:16.
We dealt with this more than once. You are wrong and your so called hermeneutics are as bad as your personal doctrine.

The sky is blue, water is wet, and no matter what? you ain't got it right yet

move on. So boring already

How does it feel knowing those prayers against me and against others here will bear NO fruit?

I never say shame on you because I think it is childish and an emotional reaction when someone is gob smacked by something someone says

However, it is actually an expression that suits you to a T

SHAME ON YOU

Is that not the same as praying for the Holy Spirit's conviction....except that it is a direct statement addressed personally towards me?

Shame on you.

Hmmm, let's see here, John's ROLE was to Prepare the Way...
His Job is to Preach and he also water baptized, as it already WAS A CUSTOM for JEWS to be water baptized, in those days already.

You think John INTRODUCED Water Baptism to the Jewish World?
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

They were water baptizing since the First Temple Period!!

Shame on YOU. Much more shame.

Holy Ghost, work.
I'm just having a little fun while you are getting angrier and angrier

Chill out dude. I know your little conviction notices are not going to ever have any effect and neither are the silly memes I am posting

No surprise though that you take it seriously

smh

The idioms like Pool of Shalom and others were nothing more than places where JEWS went and immersed themselves in water ritual baptism.

Who is the Denomination or Doctrine that teaches John, the Baptist, was the first to invent Water Baptism?

Those people would be the last ones I might ever consider listening to.

That was a big big major mistake to not know water baptism had been around in John's day, already some 3,000 years.

Baptism means immersion. So yeah, the first baptism might have been immersion into water. But it represents baptism (immersion) into Christ. If your "law of first mention" rule applied, the world would need a lot more heart surgeons, because there'd be a whole lot of foreskins needing to be circumcised from Christian hearts. But circumcision of the heart has a spiritual rather than physical application, much like baptism into Christ.

Mat 7:12, Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

OK Fun time over

Splashing in water does not wash away sins.

Here it is again and yes I am a woman and apparently light years ahead of your scrambled eggs persuasions. Baptized INTO Jesus means a spiritual baptism. No one who has ANY understanding would possibly think water is involved.

I know why water regeneration people insist otherwise though. If they would admit their error, what would follow, would be a catastrophic domino effect for quite a few other beliefs including the Moses in the Ark fantasy.

26For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3

We are sons/daughters of Christ through FAITH. Not baptism

The reference to baptism in v 27 is a METAPHOR. There is no water. You do not start your journey with water. You start it with FAITH and continue with FAITH for the rest of your sojourn on this planet.

V 28 deals with the fact that God does not place more value on men than on women as certain people like to do. Slaves are of the same value as everyone who comes to Christ in FAITH and is SPIRITUALLY BAPTIZED into Christ and identify with Him.

We are heirs according to the promises first told to Abraham, whose faith was also recognized as RIGHTEOUSNESS. NO water at all. They had to dig wells for water. There is nothing about Abraham being thrown down a well to have his sins forgiven. RIGHTEOUSNESS comes through faith. FAITH
