No mind can contemplate the ancient history of the children of Israel without feeling a strong desire to trace their history and to know something of their present state and prospects. The Jews were scattered, as the ancient prophets declared they would be, among all nations, from one end of the earth to another.

Mark Twain wrote the following,
There is not a solitary village throughout its whole extent (valley of Jezreel) — not for 30 miles in either direction --- One may ride 10 miles hereabouts and not see 10 human beings.

For the sort of solitude to make one dreary, come to Galilee . . . Nazareth is forlorn . . . Jericho lies a smoldering ruin . . . Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and humiliation . . . untenanted by any living creature . . . .

A desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds . . a silent, mournful expanse . . . a desolation . . . . We never saw a human being on the whole route . . . . Hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country . . . . Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes . . . desolate and unlovely.”

When Titus, destroyed Jerusalem and plowed up its foundations, the lands in Judea were ordered sold, and only a few souls remained amid its desolations. Multitudes moved to Egypt, the Islands of the Adriatic; Persia (Iran) and Babylon (Iraq); others took refuge in Italy and the western areas of the Roman empire. And no matter what nation or state they had ventured into, they continued to exhibit the same deep, earnest love of their ancient homeland.

All that remains today of other great civilizations are a small number of ancient documents, fallen crumbling stones and broken images. Their greatness and their glory swallowed up and covered by time. Where kings once feasted, common people now eat. But the Jews have preserved their ancient identity and live in the present, a people and nation of the past.

Before the remains of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Jews may be seen mourning and praying over the loss of their temple, their glory, and the ruins of ancient Zion. The world recognizes the father of the Jews in Abraham. Theirs is more a family history than a nation’s history. In whatever light we may view them, we cannot fail to be deeply moved by the feeling of intense interest on their behalf.

Their journeying across national borders, battling their oppressors, suffering considerable losses, and few victories, they remained a family, never forgetting their heritage. The first part of their struggle ended, and Amos’s prophecy began to bear fruit on the 14th of May, 1948.

Amos 9:14-15, the LORD said, “I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them ... And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.”
The LORD has brought the Jews through two thousand years of suffering and disgrace. “A reproach and a by-ward” among the nations, yet “a bush burning with fire, yet not consumed.” Here we have a beautiful fulfillment of prophecy, giving us incontestable evidence of the truth of the Bible.

Isaiah 11:10-16, It shall come to pass, said the Lord, “I shall set (my) hand again the second time to recover the remnant of my people, which shall be left ... and shall gather together the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.”

God will protect the Jews. I agree. However, we must remember that a NEW JERUSALEM will descend from heaven when the Lion of Juda returns. Under the New Covenant, Faith, a New Israel exists. All who profess Jesus as Lord and Savior have become heirs to the Promis through adoption, and, as Paul said: One is not a Jew who is one outwardly, but who is one INWARDLY.

The New Jerusalem will NOT nullify redeemed and restored Jerusalem on earth. There are numerous prophecies in this regard. For example The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more. (Joel 3:16,17)

Also the Church (in the New Jerusalem) DOES NOT replace redeemed and restored Israel on earth after the Second Coming of Christ (Ezek 36:24-28) 24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. 28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Of course, only those Jews who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and experience the New Birth. But all twelve tribes will be represented.

Israel is still "a disobedient and gainsaying people" in God's eyes, soon it will make a firm covenant with Antichrist, accept him as their Messiah, and start killing Christians during the Great Tribulation, with two thirds of them being executed at Christ's Second Coming, due to following Antichrist! Dan 9v27, 11v31, Zech 13v8, Matt 24v9,15-21, 2Thess 2v1-4, Rev 19v11-21.

Good question: When Jacob was born, he was given a name by his earthly parents, Jacob. After he wrestled with the Lord, he was given another name, a heavenly name, Israel, as were Abraham, Sarah, Peter and others. The Jews who have not, and will not accept Jesus Christ, will go into the time of Jacob's trouble, these are not Israel, though they call themselves Israel. The Jews who receive Jesus, are israel, and will receive the promised blessings of God.

Define "Jews" from your post:

"The Jews who have not, and will not accept Jesus Christ"
"The Jews who receive Jesus"

You say I haven't answered the question. Your probably right, because I have no idea what the question is your asking. Jews, Hebrews, are the sons of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And who said there not Jews if that's what you're implying?

If God prophesied He would restore Israel and cause them, who are scattered to return Home, why wouldn't they be Jews?
Hosea 3:4-5
For the sons of Israel will remain for many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar and without ephod or household idols. Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness in the last days.

The Last Days has been a 2,000 year period. So the Jews in Israel today meet every condition Hosea speaks about.

A few years ago a few of you will remember (maybe not) I went to Slovakia to help with the one Christian school in the country. The pastor of the local protestant evangelical church there became enamored with the testimony/devotional I gave and discussions I had with the local American missionary's son about visiting Israel.

So now...the pastor after deciding to take a 2 year sabbatical in Israel after our trip there....his son has returned to Israel requested by the Israeli government to help with humanitarian efforts there.

Strange connections indeed.

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.”
