Saved from their sin. My point was that long before God made salvation plan clear, men saw their need before Him.
Yes, and God sent the Prophets to teach the people about His salvation plan through Jesus Christ.

After Luke 24:36 and before Acts 1:8-9 there was John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

The disciples received the Holy Spirit from Jesus before pentecost. They were able to come into unity through the Holy Spirit's work in their hearts so that at Pentecost they were in one accord together.
The Holy Spirit released His power on the disciples and his convicting power on all flesh at Pentecost.
It means a few things. One thing is that Abraham understood, perhaps better than many today, of both his need of redemption and the certainty of it because He who promised it is faithful. In this, he rejoiced knowing that a Savior would some day appear to perform all that was necessary for his salvation.
As far as seeing it, that could either mean he understood this by faith, that it was his experience, or that he actually was able to view the events of Jesus' life from glory.

I believe any human ever born can be saved based upon faith in Christ . But in the ot they had to wait in rest for fulfillment of the promises of messiah the savior and lord

we’ve been born when God tells a man who believes and is about to die this

“And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But in the ot when they were going to die this was the message

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

which meant this was about to happen

“So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭34:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But to Christian’s they are told

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
‭‭John‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:51‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s become about Christian’s parting from thier body when it dies and going to Jesus alive by the spirit of which they are reborn and given life

“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

(for we walk by faith, not by sight:)

we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:6-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

They were waiting for jesus to be born and accomplish the gospel we aren’t we have promises of life and not death because of jesus but indeed Abraham Isaac and Jacob we are hiers of the same kingdom same life after death

“And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.”
‭‭?Matthew‬ ‭8:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s just that there was no life for man until Jesus gave his for us the promise was always there and wherever God made the promise the. Faith is available for the Hearer who believes him
When did the things Jesus spoke become true? Are they the result of the cross or were they always true?

Even prior to that. Genesis 4 men began to call upon the name of the Lord.
…except that it wasn’t the true God they were calling. This actually is not when they started worshiping God. Unfortunately, what began here was idol worship.

Why do you believe this way? The verse gives no sense of idolatry. The phrase...calling on THE NAME of the LORD...suggests just the opposite to me. They are making their call in conjunction with some attribute of God's character.

Perhaps you could do a little research. I was surprised, too. The godly line of Seth would be the line of the promised Seed.

Romans 10:13 says, "everyone that calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved," so, yea anyone that believed and declared, "The Lord is my Salvation" was answered by The Amen.

Amen.

…but this was in the time of Enosh.

There are many theories among scholars regarding this scripture. It’s interesting, too, because of Cain‘s offering to God. Truly, I’m not sure.

Me too. Men began to profane the name of the Lord In Gen 4:26.......The next scene is the flood.

Men began to ascribe attributes of God to themselves. Gives a little light to the sons of God taking the daughters of men and giants/neph. IMO.

Genesis 4:26 is speaking of the line of Seth...And to Seth, to him also was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
I'm not sure I'm the one who needs to do a little research.

I think that Cain's offering wasn't accepted in that it took little trust or belief in the Lord to provide, which is the reputation of His Name. The land from which Cain took his offering surely would've yield more of the same, so I suspect Cain trusted the reputation of the land more than He did that of God, and so was not actually calling upon the true Name of the Lord. However, Abel's offering, the best lamb of his flock, well, what guarantee could the ram and the ewe that produced it offer him of another like it? Abel had to trust completely on the reputation of the Lord to provide.

Right, Abel's offering left no chance of reproduction apart from that from above. He poured out the life of his offering. What did Cain offer, a tenth of the ears off of his cornstalks?

I love the quote from Jim Eliot...He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.

I agree. In our translations and our definitions, it's not in there. But in the Hebrew and those definitions it is.

chalal: pierce
Original Word: חָלַל
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: chalal
Phonetic Spelling: (khaw-lal')
Definition: to bore, pierce

[חָלַל] verb pollute, defile, profane;

New King James Version
And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the LORD.

“When did the things Jesus spoke become true?”

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s true but he’s saying it’s going to happen later …..it’s prophecy about what’s going to happen later

“Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:22-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s true and now it’s been fulfilled and declared now the time has come

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying,

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when he spoke them in the Old Testament promises ……they were true but announced for later

So this has always been true from the time he spoke the truth about it

“Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s still true now but we know his name this was true then but it’s prophetic about what he would do in the future

“Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭52:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In that future time when I come

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:3‬ ‭

Again he’s going to later do this it’s prophetic it’s of course true but he’s foretelling what’s going to come later later it comes to pass and is fulfilled

“Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;”

true

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭

Still true but fulfilled Now we can hear that promised word of life

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

…From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63, 66-68‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That word that is forever

“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Promising salvation

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Abel brought a blood offering. Cain did not.
“And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof.

And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

If thou doest good, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not good, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:3-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother.

And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil,

and his brother's righteous.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

abel was a righteous man cain was not this was the difference they both offered of thier own livelihood but God tells cain “ you have to do good to be acceptable if you don’t sin is right there and will take you “

Boils down to that still who will believe and repent and do what’s right

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:34-35‬ ‭

same option cain had

Cain did what many still do...try to be accepted of God in their own way rather than find acceptance in God's way.
