In April this year, I fell on my wedding anniversary but it was the first one as a widow, as my beautiful man fell asleep last year from Alzheimer's. As I put my hands out to stop my face from getting smashed, they took the brunt of it and it was discovered I had broken the right scaphoid bone in the wrist, which although healing still hurts, but mainly the left hand, and I have damaged three fingers, in particular the left pinkie. It is now permanently bent and swollen, and has a hard lump like a rock in the middle of it, pain level 8-9 out of 10. I play the piano and love to play worship songs but its difficult at the moment. It is just not healing up. It is sore to open doors, turn taps, write, use the toothbrush, lift the kettle and eat with cutlery. I am also left handed! Now I am getting shooting pains in my right hand which the doc thinks could be rheumatism from the trauma of the broken wrist

Please can I ask for your prayers? For over a year my shoulders and hips were hurting but since the fall they have got worse. The pain of losing my husband has added to the physical pain. Thankyou. God bless you.

I am sorry about the death of your husband. I lost my wife earlier this year and I know how much that hurts. I have prayed for both of your hands and wrists to be healed.

thankyou so much psychomom - lol I was worried my post was too long! I walk around with a general slouch because I am carrying the weight of bereavement on my back. My dear father in Australia, Ted, 83, has also succumbed to Alzheimer's and is in a nursing home - albeit a lovely home - and seems to be actually forgetting LESS and repeating LESS, I think because he is busy and has company. Wow, I don't want you to change your avatar but the bridge looks just like the bridge I chose in Scotland to scatter my husband's ashes! In fact that picture helps me. I did however suffer a mild heart attack that night due to the sheer emotion of the past 8 years of looking after Gordon and the injustice of Dad having the disease too. But thank you so much for your prayers. Bless you, sister-in-Christ xx

Oh so so sorry for your loss. I sincerely know what you are feeling. I pray that God heals you emotionally and if you would like to read poetry that I composed about the situation, please feel free. I hope it comforts and thank you very much for your prayers.

here in the States, New England is rocky...so we have lots of bridges like this nearby. :)
it reminds me that Jesus bridged the enormous gap between me and a Holy God.

my sister lost her husband 12 years ago (she was 40), and then her son 22 months later...
i don't think it's something you get over, but rather something God will enable you
to move past...to grieve and then be able to move on from, not forgetting,
but having those emotional wounds healed over, if that makes sense??
it's been an amazing journey for me, watching our Faithful Father do His
good work in her life, and i am grateful that she's my sister in Christ, too.

please don't ever, ever worry your post is too long...
and i don't mean this to sound trite, because your suffering is very real...
but cast your cares on Jesus. life is too heavy for us to carry,
but He is able to do this for us.
i don't mean you shouldn't grieve...but as you are able, even if it doesn't feel real...
give your sadness and worry and all of that stuff to your Jesus.

when are weakest, but He is strong.
the hardships that come our way without invitation...
in circumstances we can't control...
it's HIS power, in Grace, that rules the day.

the longer i walk with God, the more i see Jesus saves me not once,
but many times, day after day...moment after moment.

i'm sorry about your dad, too. and glad to hear he's doing better in community.
we are people people...so don't be a stranger! ♥
my inbox is open to you any time you feel alone and need companionship.
please private message me any old time.

with much love to you, because of Jesus,
ellie

Hello tourist, so sorry I haven't corresponded before now. I haven't been on the forum for a long time. How have you been? I am very sorry to read that you have lost your sweetheart. It feels surreal, doesn't it? Thankyou so much for your prayers. My fingers still hurt but I am learning to live with it and still pray for healing. Do you ever come on to the CC chat room? It's great there.

Take care of yourself, and kind regards.

11COR. 4:17-18.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and
Eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
