I think that is interestingly the one thing I have never questioned. God still loves me. God still forgives. God knew I was going to do it before I did it so I haven't even shocked Him and He loves me no matter what. He knew exactly what I was when He called me, before I even knew. That last one just hit me in the chest. God loves me THAT much.
So if you sinned, what Bible verse did you violate?

I know specifically there are parts in the Bible that mention fleeing from sexual sin, for us to be examples in our purity. And I remember it talking about people "burning in their lust."

Ususally mastribation goes in levels: temptation, lust, succumbing to lust, mastribation. That seems to go very much with the verse that speaks about us being tempted, temptation being us being lead away by our lusts, and then that leading to sin. Also, just common sense, if sex is just for marriage then we should have no need to reach down there unless we're putting a tampon or using the bathroom. XDD
The burning in lust is for fornication. Of course you should not do what you feel guilty about doing. But how do you know how masturbation usually goes? Do you have proof for how it usually goes? What causes you to make masturbation the outcome of lust (wanting to do something God does not want you to do)?

If God objected to masturbation, why didn't He forbid it in His word?

If conjugation is just for marriage, what does that have to do with masturbation?

Do you find that you are lusting with masturbation & that it is a road to lust for you?
Merely to want to masturbate is not lust unless masturbation is something which the Lord has told you He does not want you to do. But if it is wrapped up with lustful thoughts, then it would be a stumbling block for you. If somehow it makes you want to fornicate, it would be a stumbling block for you.

I think that mastribation counts as forniaction. Fornication with oneself basically.

I can honestly say I was not expecting debate in the prayer section.

I'm just curious why you keep trying to brush it off. If this is bothering her so much it doesn't matter if there is a verse or no verse about mastribation in the bible. She doesn't want to relapse, she doesn't want this to become a habit... nothing should rule over our bodies because a Christian's body belongs to God.

I doubt she is just doing it to do it. Stress or sickness can cause us to act out ( I know because I've done things to try and make myself feel better). If something doesn't come from faith then its not of God..what if stress is causing someone to do this?

Give us one verse that says we should masturbate Atwood? smoking is wicked there is evil spirits that enter a person and bind them or at least there is demonic influence particularly with drugs but thats not written in the bible it is but the words 'smoking or doing drugs' doesnt appear but that doesnt mean you dont have to repent of that and doesnt mean its not sin. Same with masturbation. By the way God choose what would be written in his Word not your preconceived notions of it.
Another thought maturbation is lust because it gives pleasure- false pleasure to oneself and that is not giving. Sex is between a man and a woman and it is 'giving' oneself to the other spouse. Selfishly gratifying yourself is focusing on yourself not others. If you do something in love towards yourself itll benefit others. lust never gives out.

Just because the bible does not say something is ok to do does not it mean it's wrong to do. That's faulty thinking and invalid logic.

Dear sister in Christ Jesus! I want to remind you that even though you sin, even though you fall, because of your advocate Jesus Christ, God still see's you as righteous, pure, good, and holy! Because of the blood of Jesus! Understanding this has helped me overcome Mastribation myself! i started proclaiming that I am righteousness in God through Jesus Christ, No matter how many times i failed, i convinced myself that i am Righteous, i understood that Jesus Christ still loved me, and i knew he could be my way out! And next thing i know i overcame it! Understanding His deep, uncondtional, never ending love for and his forgiveness for you can really help change your life! You see the bible said he died to forgive us of ALLL our sins
Colossians 2:13-14
13
You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.
Look at verse 13, he said that we were once dead, but through Christ he made us alive by forgiving us of ALL (Which is every) sin. Past, present, and Future! And notice in verse 14 he said that Jesus canceled the record against by the CROSS! It was his blood for us that set us free from Sin! and its his blood that forgave us of every sin we might ever do! Praise God for his unending love!
Another note, please understand that you are saved by grace! (not by laws, or the 10 commandments) But 100% his Grace! And his Grace doesnt have the whole cants and can, because honestly, if we continue to think about sin, we'll eventually fall into it! Look at this verse!
Romans 8:1
1.So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
There no condemnation! No need to condemn yourself if not even Jesus Does!! God is never angry at your sins, See Jesus took our punishment, he took our sin, we transferred our sins unto him and in return he TRANSFERRED HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS INTO US!! Isnt that beautiful? So he doesnt look at me As Sam the mastibator, Sam the sinner instead he looks at me As Sam the Jesus Christ! He no longer see's our sin's! We are free from it! And the bible says that Grace will teach us not to sin! Not laws and regulations, and cans and cannots! So rely fully on the Grace of God, Instead of saying I WILL OVER COME THIS SIN, Starts saying GOD I CANT OVER COME THIS SIN, BUT I KNOW THROUGH YOU I CAN! I THANK YOU FOR BEING MY STRENGTH!.. See the differnce? the first prayer made it sound like that person was trying at their own efforts, the second prayer made it sound likehe needed God to help him get through it because he understood that he cant over come with out Christ! Look its even Scripture!
Luke 18:9-14

[SUP]9 [/SUP]To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: [SUP]10 [/SUP]“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. [SUP]11 [/SUP]The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. [SUP]12 [/SUP]I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
[SUP]13 [/SUP]“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
[SUP]14 [/SUP]“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

See how the Pharisee prayed like he made his own righteousness? that he can overcome things by himself? In this case Jesus pretty much said that he will continue being a sinner and falling into sin! But the Tax Collector went home righteous and justified! Because you are a Christian, and believe in Jesus Christ, means that God will always see you as righteous! Its just up to you to accept Gods righteousness and accept his blood that it forgave you and walk in that forgiveness!!!
Love you sis!
I have every once of Faith in you that you can over come this!

FOR $64,000, give me one Bible verse on masturbation.
Matthew chapter 5

[27] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
[28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
[29] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
[30] And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Why do you suppose that Jesus mentioned one's "hand offending them" in the context of committing adultery by lusting in one's heart? "Thy eye" we can certainly understand, but why "thy hand"?

You can just buy the OP a journal and then donate the rest of the $64,000.00 to charity. Thanks.

Steph, here's a little something I wrote about God and sexuality... maybe there's something in there that can help you.

God bless.

Caution. Adult dialoge. Viewer discretion advised.

The first thing I’m going to do when I get to Heaven (ok, the second) is to
seek out Adam. What the heck he was thinking, eating that fruit? Remember now -
he was created naked, and woman likewise; and they ran around for God knows how
long that way. It wasn’t until they ate from the tree that they thought it was
odd to be naked and covered up. (Please note that it took both of them. But,
one simple rule, just don’t do this, and what does woman do? Initiate something
we
men then take responsibility for ;) ). But really, Adam, man, talk about blowing
it in Biblical proportions. If you hadn’t eaten that apple, Maxim could print
pictures of women who are actually naked. The human body
is God's
greatest art form.

Oh that human body, that fallen flesh. God made it. All of it. Yeah,
everything. Even that. And these. And here, there, and this little spot way
under … giggle … All those wonderful nerve endings ... His design. Those
organs, hormones and neural pathways, with the sole purpose of making you want
to become one with another… His design. Born naked ... His design.

All of which has been totally screwed under satan's authority. That
which was so innocent has now become so vile. And our flesh, like a leash,
drags us into that villainy. But what can we do, even when it's not being
tempted by satan it's still flesh, fallen and opposed to God. The only way to
be truly free of it is to be done with it. But that's not a choice we're
supposed to make for ourselves.

So the battle is not to try and be rid of the urges (as the Borg say,
resistance is futile), but to learn how to manage them. You must have a plan.
That includes confessing your failures, and asking forgiveness. When you submit
to a demon yanking on your leash, you empower it over you. Confession is the
way you rebuke that. In God's mind, salvation forgiveness is a once for
lifetime event, and the power of sin has no effect on it. But the power of sin
in the here and now is that if you submit to an authority, you're submitted to
an authority... until you rebuke it. So bring it before God, confess what you
got dirty in (again), and pray the Blood of Christ be poured out upon and
within you for the cleansing it brings in both spirit
and flesh. Pray
the Holy Spirit be poured out upon you as well, filling your spirit to be
stronger against the flesh. Be specific in your prayers. And confront the enemy
and his minions who are going to use that flesh of yours. They're going to
taunt and tease and do their best to entice you. Heck, they've built a global
society around it. Be aware of that, and like the verse paraphrases, if your
HBO causes you to sin then cut it off. That or your hand, but I'd try the HBO
first.

Know how I treat my addiction? I come here. I told myself that when I was being
tempted, I would come here first, and that if 30 minutes later I was still
worked up I'd go ahead. I'm still here.
Put your mind on God and the rest will,
eventually, follow.

I have just never believed that was a sin, in a case like yours. God put the sex drive there and you are not looking at something that is causing you to masturbate. I would think having sex outside of marriage is the real sin.

I once heard a very well-known Bible teacher on the radio say I just cannot believe that God would put a fire inside of a young man and then expect him to suffer.

If you were married and masturbating, that is a problem.

What's the difference? If you masturbate before you're married you're sort of almost desecrating yourself before your future husband/wife can even find ya.

Respect Artsiesteph, for raising something most of us have done but would be too embarrassed and ashamed to admit in public.

I can't see the direct scripture, but it does not sit well with 1 Corinthians 16:19-20 - "body a temple of the Holy Spirit"

My thoughts, prayers are with you steph.

Awesome......You do know that there are only two people in the world right? Those that do or have done it and those that lie about it. :)

Father God, You promise a way of escape that we are able to bear the temptations that come our way. I pray Your daughter Steph's eyes are open to the many ways You offer her refuge. I also pray Steph know You so intimately and powerfully that she know beyond a shadow of a doubt how much You love her and care for her every need. I pray grace and peace be hers and I pray that You would continue to be glorified in her life, Lord Jesus! :D

LORD,

please remind Steph that she can claim her Victory through You, Father. Thank You for forgiving all our sins on the cross and that as believers, we are righteous in Your eyes through Jesus. Thank You for Your covenant that because of what Christ has done, our sins You will see no more.

I pray for Your heavenly control on Steph's body and I declare that as You are, so are we in this world. I pray You will remove Steph from temptation and remind her that You have fought our battles and You understand our struggles. LORD, make her remember that though she has fallen, You have forgiven her and that You are still by her side. Remind her that there is no condemnation from You and that only by drawing near to You, LORD, will all things be possible.

Release her from her guilt and remind her that she is positioned with Christ at Your right hand, far above all accusers and sin.

I pray all these in Jesus Name,
Amen.
