We have spent all day struggling with my brother since 9am it's now 11pm, he left early in the morning & came back drunk, high on Xanax & pot. He said he took 6 Xanax & kept going through all our drawers looking for whatever pill he could take, He was foamin from the mouth, had shortness of breath & he was very agitated. My mom took him to the hospital to see want they could do maybe an IV or something to detox quick but the hospital did nothing . They came back home & my mom got some sisters together to come pray. As soon as they left he continued looking for more pills, wanting to leave to find more alcohol & repeatedly says he wants more Xanax . He doesn't find comfort. He doesn't reason we don't know what to do or where to go . None of us have eaten we have been struggling with him, keeping him from leaving . My mom has diabetes & high blood pressure recently diagnosed. With all this she is feeling ill. I feel so bad for my parents . We are so tired we have been struggling on & off since he was about 14 he is now almost 20. If you find it in your hearts to please pray . We don't know what to do or how to help him .

Father,

please break this vicious cycle of addiction for this man. We pray that You show him your goodness and mercy, LORD, and deliver him from this.

GOD, heal his body of these symptoms and let him remember that You alone have come to give Life more abundant. Give peace to his family as they go through this time, protect their bodies and their minds and give them wisdom to listen to Your Word as they go through this.

Strengthen them, Father, that they will be reinforced in faith and be filled with the spirit of Victory.

In Jesus most precious name,

Amen

Heavenly Father,

I pray that You will put Your intervening hand in this situation. Only You can deliver this child of Yours from this addiction and clear his mind of the drugs that he has put inside himself. LORD, send Your spirit into him and sober him up that he may awake and be a new creation in You, LORD. LORD, lay Your hand upon this family and give them strength and wisdom to do the right thing in this ordeal. Send Your angels to guard these children of Yours and protect them with Your loving kindness and mercy.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Dear Lord, please pour your Spirit out on this family. Give them your peace that passes all understanding. Let them realize that if you they can trust in you for their eternal salvation, then they can trust in you for any earthly trial. In Jesus name. Amen

I am no Dr. but I have had dealings with Xanax before, and my recommendation would be to wean him off this horrible drug. He may have to take some other to wean off, but I believe that particular one is incredibly dangerous. The reason he wants more is because you need to take a greater dose to get the same effect you had with a lesser dose, and it becomes a viscious cycle.

With prayer ALL things are possible.

I'm not saying I'm for sure right in this, but I and my family would stop "dealing" with this one. It is not working, and is only dragging the rest of you (esp. his mother) down. But I also would not house a 20 year old if he was going to continue to take drugs around us. Let him go and let God. In the meantime, pray for him continually.

At one time, I began to change my prayers for my addicted daughter. Instead of asking God to help her, I began to "bind" her to various scriptures of what God could do, and began to visualize the Lord doing exactly that. I praised Him for what I saw Him doing (no matter what I heard or saw in my daughter). I chose only to focus on the Lord's power - not her weakness.

It was just a short time, and one night she was completely wasted laying on the ground with friends, when she heard a voice audibly saying her name. She knew it was God and answered His question. (Her story to tell) But at the same time, she was completely sober, sat up and then ran from the group she was with. Never took drugs again.

I discovered the power of praise. And changing my focus as I used scripture to do exactly that. The promises of what God can do "All your children shall be taught of God and great shall be their peace" in Isaiah was one. I just kept seeing God's presence with her to teach her and establish her peace. Only saw HIM. It raised my level of faith, and my praises released greater power to play upon my daughter because God is enthroned upon our praises (which mean He is active in them).

I hope this helps you in some small way.

LORD,

protect this family from these spirits of addiction and worry. Intervene in this child's life that he may see Your grace and forgiveness and convict him in Your unfailing Love.

Bless the other members of this family and give them strength and wisdom to do the right things in this situation. Continue to give them peace and assurance in Your Word and Your presence, Father.

In Jesus name,
Amen
