I'm at the point now where I really need some prayers. I was turned down for yet another job, and it has sunk my self-esteem into a bigger hole. I've been wanting to start my own life but I'm constantly having to borrow money from my step dad just as I can buy myself groceries and have a working phone. At 24-years-old I feel like a complete waste of space, and not able to contribute to any conversations with other Christians because nothing is happening in my life. I feel drained and empty on the inside, and I'm afraid I've just given up. Please pray that God changes my heart, and I can find some kind job sooner than later. I don't know how much more of this I can take. I prayed and cried out to Him constantly, but it hasn't changed anything. Or else I wouldn't be feeling the way I am right now.

Precious Lord I lift up jsr1221, I just pray Lord that you would direct his steps and lead him to the place you desire him to be. Not just a job but a job that builds him up in faith and in esteem. Lord its so hard today for so many but we know Lord that you give us simple instruction not to worry about what we eat or drink but to seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven and all God's righteousness and ALL THESE THINGS will be given. We pray in thanksgiving that you know where jsr is headed and your plans are perfect. Lord bless him according to his faithfulness to pursue you even when it seems you are not there. We know that this perspective is a spiritual attack and we know that the lows are what makes our triumphant testimony in YOUR GRACE and provision but we also know how difficult the lows are. I pray that you would spiritually bless this young man Lord and remind him who he is to you. In Jesus name amen.

jsr, as with any relationship the worst time to neglect it is in the lows. Wash your spirit with even just a verse of scripture in the morning and pray... praise God for the food in your belly for the roof over your head for the bird in the tree. Start the day with a psalm and stop speaking lies over yourself. God bless you... one step... one step... one step at a time little brother.

You absolutely as a christian MUST have 2 things going on
1) This natural life

2) your awesome walk with God. You have to fill your mind wwith the bible and the one that wrote it.
Adapt this new attitude; "I will get with God,worship, read, study, and pray"..." I will reject faith destroying thoughts and negative poison"
Let all that comes at you and seems to go wrong actually propel you. YES,now you will see the hand of God in that the very thing trying to get you and shipreck your mind and soul, will now reveal HIS MIGHTY HAND.

See that? Stop that faithless testimony.

I tell my 26 yr old wayward son "Sometimes you have to go to the "robot mode" You just take one step ,one step at a time in the right direction.

You simply must have that secret place with God and let him "disconnect you from this world.
People will move towards you when they see you all happy in a trial.

HEY.....how will you ever know how mighty he is,how powerfull he is,how much he is involved in your life if there are no giants to go and kill.

Watch this;
David saw the giant that made their knees shake in fear as and actual OPPORTUNITY!!!! "what is the reward for a peson that kills this giant"...was David's question.

Something is "happening" in your life (that hurts) and I´m sure GOD is with you for the better. Find hope in Him!

May our prayers be heard, for you.

I am listening. Thank you and everyone else for the posts and prayers. It's hard to see what good there is when you're getting into your mid 20s and having a parent still pay for everything. For me that's completely embarrassing. And I've been wondering a lot maybe I'm not called to work. Since there is a lot of homeless people in the world. Maybe I'm called to be like them.

perhaps you should help them not be them. While u wait for your job go today and volunteer. This is good on a resume! I'm not allowing you to have a sad party God created you for more than this and you are in the prime of your life! live such a life that when you are old like me you can still say hey man I'm in the prime of my life! I plan to say that at 80!

I dont believe God meant for you to be homeless, but that He wants to teach you to overcome your fear. You get robbed because of the fear. Worrying and believing in failure is like opening the door of your house for satan to come in and take away whatever he likes.
God has always been faithful to provide a job for me when I sought it, although I'm in a country with terrible unemployment. God is a not a respecter of persons and will do the same for you. Praying that you are provided with a job, and that you open your heart to trust God to provide and be at peace as you keep applying and discerning which one He has prepared.

Hi jsr1221 God bless you for reaching out. Looks like God is working closer in your life than you realise. :)

But I feel for you. I remember when I was that age and had similar experiences.. out on my luck felt like life had left me behind. Don't worry, things will work themself out for you, things always work themselves out in the end. You will get through this.

Can I just ask you one thing though?

Through it all, despite all your prayers of supplication to God.

I'm not talking about thanking Him for all that you have in your life like your family, friends etc.

But actually thanked Him for all the bad things in your life as well?

Have you thanked Him for not getting that job?

Have you thanked Him for where your life is at now?

Sometimes, He is just waiting for your thanks for everything.

Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Bob Marley: Give thanks and praise to the lord and i will feel all right. You will feel better when you praise Him!
:)

Remember this. I have some things I want you to think about for a while.

You are more precious to God more than anyone can express with words.

When God takes something away from you, its not to punish you, its to replace it with something better.

Remember, to all of our prayers, God gives 1 of 3 answers. It's either Yes, No or Wait.

Remember, God is never late; He's seldom early; but He's always right on time.

Don't give up on God now! These are testing times for you and He is working through you and other people working something out for you right now. And lastly remember and think of this, He never said that it would be easy. Only that it would be worth it.

Give thanks to God for ALL things in your life. The good and the bad. For The Lord gives and He takes away as He sees fit for our personal wellbeing and walk with Him.

Amen to you sister and my prayers are with you in this pivotal point in your life that is either going to make you or break you.

I personally do believe that it is going to make you. :)

God bless and chin up!

Rudi.

When I divorced I had a terrible time, not only emotionally, but economically. I knew nothing to do to get money or a job. I wasn´t living in a city and, at least, I had my roof, my hut, but I ate expired cheese and those things my land produced "naturally", because I wasn´t taking care of those plants I had as a hobbie... By time God gave me new friends, they gave me some jobs and, afterwards, I became independent, because I was dependant and interdependant of my ex wife and, that, should be to God, esentially (at least, that was part of my life experience when I was far from a big city)

I remember feeling like that in my twenties. Things changed quickly though. Hang in there and don't give up. Praying for you. You're blessed to have great parents that will help you out. Nobody admits their parents help them, but lots of people accept help from their parents. God bless!

Yeah parents don't mind it more than you think either. Gives them purpose hehe so really you're doing them a favour in the grand scheme of things.

The OP is obviously and intelligent person and God is working out a plan for them.

Be strong and be of good cheer.

He has gone before us and then came back for us. :)

Dude,dude,dude.......this is a funk you are in. The way out is so easy. You have to and are resposible for KNOWING WHO YOU ARE IN JESUS AND YOUR CALLING/OFFICE.
You have a part to play. Stop the attitude with the job, parent, homeless thinggy.

Ok here is your direct assignment;
Start to thank him for everything he has done for you.(eyesight, parents,a sound mind, etc, etc) As you begin to thank him he will show you a myriad of things you never thought of that you have as blessing from heaven.
Now,as tg told you ,you MUST,MUST.MUST, get out of yourself. You do this through focus and MINISTRY.
Here is a simple ministry you can do every day. In your daily travels, smile at eeveryone that passes by or you encounter.
Must will smile back, some won't,but those are the hurrting ones,so just ssay Jesus touch them.He will also touch you.

Watch this video of the kurdish women fighters. Those christians (thousands?) that they rescued from the mountain and some can not even speak of the attrocities that they went through. ...and here come thes brave women ,and men,rag tag army with the heart and courage of a lion to rescue them. Hear them sing their army song of lament for their fallen comrades dying in battle.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJS65CWQfSQ
We must wake up,get out of ourselves, and join in the battle.

I know there are those that are less fortunate and it can always be worse. Which is why I feel guilty for even asking and posting this in the first place.

There is no one not worthy of prayer, we all go through times when we need the support of our brothers and sisters so I will be praying for you brother. Unemployment is serious if you are unable to support yourself and yes it saps one's self esteem and constant knock-backs do nothing to help the situation because you fill out the applications and go into interview situations expecting the worse before you get any further. Asking for help even from family is hard to bear. So I will pray and ask God to lift you out of this despair you feel, I will ask Him to reveal himself to you as you set about looking for work and going into interview situations. I will ask God to provide for you and ultimately supply that job that is perfect for you and helps glorify Him.

God bless you brother, know that you are loved from the God who created you and everything else and even if you cannot see it He is with you willing you on and backing you. He wants you to ask Him to be involved - He always wants that.
