I have been getting serious with someone lately, I need prayer and direction. At times I feel inadequate and insecure, these feeling effect our relationship negatively. I have struggled with anxiety and insomnia for 4 years now and it is taking its toll on my joy and our relationship. I am usually stubborn and don't reach out to others, I appreciate your advice and prayers. God Bless!

Whenever I am confused, I find it helpful to not talk at God... aka express myself in prayer... just still my mind instead and actively wait and listen to His small voice, until He speaks up and says what He has to say. He will give us His wisdom to fix the problem.

You need to really look hard into delivernce my friend.
I walked with this same torment for decades. Its root is mixing sin with your walk,and once you kick it out,you will litterally float off the ground with joy,feeling that thing evicted fom your soul.

I recommend looking into the work of Brene Brown. She has a couple of TEDTalks on youtube, in addition to being the author of many books. She has done research in the fields of shame, vulnerability, and whole-hearted living. I think you might find some of her information useful.

Praying for you that Gods loving light touches you, and gives you peace to sleep better. And that Gods love will give you strength to believe in yourself, with all you are inside, so you can give this woman you love ALL of your love, and I pray for you to never give up on her if you believe she is the one for you.
