My husband and I took in an elderly man this week because he has no family or friends and he was afraid to go to a nursing home. Despite the benefits to his mental and emotional health being in a family setting his condition has deteriorated so rapidly that his end is very near. He says he believes in Jesus and his sacrifice to save him. I am just looking for prayer that this man's suffering does not continue too long and that God takes him home in a peaceful way.

LORD,

I pray for this elderly person that Your peace and blessings be upon him and his situation. Thank you for giving this family the desire and love in their hearts to care for this man. Bless them and provide for them that they may continue to provide and care for this man.

In the name of Jesus, our heavenly Healer and Provider,

Amen

I'm a hospice chaplain, this is what I do. Prayers to this man that his last hours here and his transition from this life to the next be pain free and completely peaceful, knowing that the love of God, the grace we have in Jesus Christ and the power and protection of the Holy Spirit reign over him. Also, my prayers for you that God's love, comfort and peace be with you always. Amen. And God bless you for looking out for this man.

What was it about taking in angels unawares? You show the true heart of Christ. God bless you hundreds fold for your compassion.

Thankyou all for praying over this man. His confusion is amplified at night and he has to be watched like a hawk every minute or he does things that could be detrimental such as taking off his oxygen or trying to get out of bed. I really did not know how much work this was going to be so I ask prayers for myself as well to stay strong for his sake. Caring for this man makes caring for a newborn baby seem like a relaxing vacation. We had our daughters birthday celebration a week early so we could be sure that Charlie would still be with us to experience the joy. He said it was a really good day.
