For over a year, I've been getting frequent headaches. Like once a week or so. In the past few months, it's increased to daily headaches. I have a headache more often than not. And for a week or so, I've been dealing with intense back pain that won't go away. I can't see a doctor for any of it, because my family doesn't have insurance. Could y'all pray the pain goes away?

I have chronic migraines. Have since I was 9. I started drinking green tea. It helps me alot. I know it doesn't work for everyone but you could try that. Fair warning.. Not the best tasting thing in the world. Lol
Cut back on your caffeine intake. If they get worse go back up and increase it just a bit. Sometimes too little or too much caffeine can cause headaches.
I would also go online and look up some exercises/physical therapy for your back. Start with something easy at first 1-2x a day. Since you're not sure what's going on, you don't want to over do it and make your back worse. PT everyday can really help with back issues.
I'll keep you in my prayers. I really hope you start feeling better.

Hi Sparky! I will pray for healing of your headaches and back pain. I noted your age was 15...from personal experience of raising a daughter and 2 nieces they got headaches do to the hormone changes in their body and then you add the stress to it they increased often. Though you have no insurance depending where you live there is free clinics available that can help you and your family out.

In virtually all states there are good health programs for people under 18. It's for families that can't afford insurance, and I'm not talking just poor people, it's big enough to cover many middle-class families. I don't know if the different states have different titles for their programs, but in my state, (PA), it's called CHIP. (Children's Health Insurance Plan. Creative, ain't they? lol) It doesn't help your parents, but it would help you. Have your parents look it up, because in this age, there's no reason a child should be without healthcare in the US. (Really stinks that adults aren't included too, but I'm trying to keep politics out of this.)

I can think of many reasons you get headaches. Some are easily avoidable. (Eyestrain from too long on electronic gadgets, neck strain from posture while looking at gadgets, and even a CPAP mask too tight on your head. If you don't have sleep apnea and don't wear a CPAP mask, it's not that one. lol) Some that can be combated but don't go away. (Allergies. A body reaction to what happened to you when you were young.) Some are lifelong. Some are signs of something worse.

Sorry, but if your family doesn't have insurance, then either they should be working on getting insurance for the kids or they should know about those clinics that treat stuff like this for a mere $22. (Philly style, and Philly is one of the more expensive cost of living spots, so if anything, it's cheaper to go see a doctor where you live.)

I think this is mostly you think your parents can't afford it, so you don't ask. A headache a day? Time to ask, because it's only going to get worse.

I held out. My worse was 18 months of agony when I was 20/21. I still get migraines, but at least I know what to do to stop it from lasting that long.

In between now and your doctor visit, run your hands under water as hot a you can take it. A headache is blood vessels in your head constricting. Running your hands under hot water tells your brain to expand all the blood vessels in your body, including the head. Warning though -- only works if it's a real headache and not a sinus headache. (Sinus headaches. Treatable. lol)

Atwhatcost, my parents are working on getting insurance. And They know about my headaches. While we still had insurance, mom kept trying to say my headaches were simply from dehydration. I proved that wrong. But by the time I did, we no longer had insurance.

With the causes: I've tried not using electronics for awhile. And it wouldn't be sleep apnea mask. I don't have sleep apnea. Though I do have insomnia. Which I fight with melatonin pills.

I'll try the running hands under hot water thing. I haven't tried that on yet. Although not showers never work, so I don't know if running my hands under hot water would help.

Stress (fatigue and worry) can cause those symptoms. Heavy, improper, or too much lifting can cause backaches. It would be good if you could see a doctor.
