Praise for Answered Prayer

As many of you know from my prayer requests here and in the Speak Your Mind thread, I have been asking for urgent prayer for the forest fires to stop, and for rain to clear the air. (I have serious asthma and have not been able to breath or go outside without a carbon filtered mask.

It was so bad here - (13/10 health hazard) that we drove north 3 hours, to escape the worst of the smoke. When we returned, it was just as bad. Very disappointing!

But not for God! On our way up the mountain, it started to rain! We could finally see the sky for the first time in over 2 weeks. Then it rained all night and the sky is even clearer.

Praise the Lord!

In addition, a fast moving fire started only 5 km or 3 miles from our house. My son, who lives near us had ash on his car which was parked outside.

Today the report was that the fire was out! So no worries about that.

I still do not have information on the fires in Washington State. I am praying they will get lots of this rain with no lightening.

Btw what is the cause of the fire in washington?

There are actually hundreds of fires in Washington state, including the biggest one in the history of the state, directly south of us. The wind has been blowing the smoke north and we are in the same valley, and it just funnels north.

The fires are a result of low winter snow pack and a hot dry spring and summer. Some have been caused by lightening, but sadly, many by people. Cigarette butts thrown out of car windows are a big cause, this summer.

So rain and cooler temperatures are a gift from God this summer!
