This is an awkward season for me as I wrestle with some dichotomies; working on some changes while contending with the notion that "all is vanity," as well as withdrawing from Christianity and the word, yet clinging to God and the values I've developed during time with Him. The concurrence of all of this is a big time mental and emotional strain.

Having doubts over the power of prayer anymore, I'm a little at odds with asking for it. In any case, I'm going to cast my net out there and maintain hope.

If you could pray that I find some peace, even some "answers," I'd be grateful. Love you all and I appreciate whatever time you dedicate to this.

Praying for you, friend and brother. You've been on my heart and mind for awhile now.

Even Jesus' followers had doubts.

Peter Denies Jesus
None of the believed he would rise, nor that he had risen
Thomas wouldn't believe until he got to touch Jesus

...and these men walked and talked with Him.

and finally, we have the fathers cry of "I believe, help my unbelief!".

Praying for you, hang in there

Do not be deceived, Wormwood. Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy's will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys.

Hey, Siberian.

I think there's always that time. Last year was mine right after graduation from Bible college.

I am very careful to say "I'll pray for you." But, please know, if God does lead you on my heart or mind, I will pray for you.

You are great.

I went through something the world calls existential depression after I read Ecclesiastes. Yes, Solomon's fault. I don't know if it's something similar to what you're going through but it was a terrible season. I will purposely pray for you, SK. For peace and joy.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

Thanks. :)

You could say I'm up against the "meaninglessness" component of an existential crisis, maybe even the freedom part of it.

@ Katie - thanks, and so are you.

@ wwjd_kilden - True, and I love that quote from The Screwtape Letters. Thanks. :)
