ok went to get the MRI yesterday took Ativan. well it did not work for my anxiety or claustrophobia. I could not see laying in a hole for about 25 minutes or longer with my legs out. The entrance did not even look big enough for A person. with all the money New jersey has there is no reason why all hospitals do not have the open MRI. Today I looked on a website and found something that takes my insurance and they do open MRI's and you can other sit up or lay down.. wow.. very happy right now. so Monday morning I call my doctor and see about a new referrel. the Ativan just gave me a good nights sleep. My daughter said I was high. I was stumbling over my own feet.. OMG!!! being as that I worked with the elderly Ativan is usually used to calm a pain in the butt person down lol . my anxiety level was very high so Ativan did nothing to help. so from my findings it all depends on your anxiety level. My state paid for the govern to ride around in personal helicopter but the hospitals do not have revised MRI's... go figure..

I used a sleep mask when I had my mri done. As long as I couldn't see that I was in a tight little tube I was ok. But I'm glad you found an open mri.

Had 2 MRI's in 2014. Found keeping my eyes closed made all the difference...much like RickyZ using a sleep mask. Hope you get your referral and all is well.

I understand. Me and my wife on a small passenger jet toward the back. We landed and they shut AC off too. I started to panic. The people in front taking their sweet time getting off. One guy had to stand there buttoning up his jacket....slowly. Wow. Some people are zombies.
I saw my self, in my mind, scrambling over the top of everyone trying to get out. I prayed hard and made it through.

We did it again last November. Small jet. I was ok. God delivered me from the fear.

I hope all of you are still praying for me. Not over the hump yet. I have been praying everyday and night. I will happy when I finally know I have been asking good for signs that everything will be ok.
