I go to a church group and before they were all saying about their encounters with god and how they feel his presence etc. and to be honest it scared me. I have prayed alot of times about this but never feel a sign or connection to say he's talking back and i'm really trying to strengthen my faith but the fact everyone else in my church group has had some kind of encounter and i haven't is bringing me down. Please pray that i will see or feel god/jesus with me soon, thankyou so much.

Will pray for you
but remember, just because you don't get a fussy feeling that doesn't have to mean you don't "have a connection" with God.

Lorna27...Proverbs 3: 5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Just want to give you some encouragement in the Lord. I remember back when I first gave my heart to the Lord, nearly 35 ago, that I would at times feel like I was alone & not able to feel that closeness with the Lord, which its seemed to me, that almost everyone in my church was filled with the spirit & full of Joy in the Lord. I know without a doubt that in these times when you feel this way, just know that its taking those steps of faith daily & Trusting that the Lord is with you. We can't always go by how we feel, but when you allow your faith to trust, that no matter how you feel, the Lord will never abandon you. Abiding in the word & having a special place in your home, that you can call you "quiet place" with the Lord. Spend time with the Lord & in His word, because I believe this is how our faith grows. We shouldn't depend on how we feel to determine whether the Lord is with us or not, just begin each day with a heart of gratefulness for all the goodness that the Lord has for you...

May you receive what you ask from the Lord this day.
God is powerful and beautiful.
Do not lose your faith in Him.
God has His time for certain things.

Lorna, I see that you are young and a new believer in Christ. I was about your age when I was saved. One thing that I have since come to believe is that you can't live by your feelings, or by your experiences, they are not a guide to life. The Word of God is your guide. Also I know that there are different kinds of people and they are attracted to different kinds of churches. If you are not comfortable in the church you are going to, consider another kind of church. Believe me they are not all the same. There are some that are very emotion oriented and some that are scholastically oriented, and everything in between. The important thing is that you find a church where you are at ease, where your privacy is respected, and where you can learn the Word of God. May the Lord lead you to such a place.
