If you read the following passage,
and I recommend the KJV for this one,
Luke10:17-20, you will notice that they returned joyful,
because the enemy was subject to them,
but Take Heed of what The Lord,
Jesus Christ Himself, says to them......
He saw the enemy fall like lightening,
(pride goes before a fall),
but that's not the cause for rejoicing so much......,
and Yes, He gave them power over the enemy,
but them having that power is not the cause for rejoicing so much,
(only if the joy is in The One who GIVES that power,
not in the power itself),
Rather, Jesus told them not to rejoice because
the enemies were subject unto them, but rather,
And this is key....
He told them to rejoice, because their names are written in heaven!
The first thing to do is make sure your name is written in heaven,
Is the Lord Jesus Christ your God and Saviour?
Did Jesus die for your sins upon the cross?
Did He rise from the grave, conquering sin and death?
Of course He did, and THAT's the good news!
But no one can believe it for you,
You must believe it yourself.....and the bible says
That if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus Christ,
and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead
we shall be saved. Praise the Lord!
If you have received Him by faith, Jesus is your Saviour,
You're name is written in heaven, and you have all you need
to start singing His praises. The Bible says Worthy is The Lamb
who was slain (for us) to receive all blessing and honor,
glory and power, He is worthy of all our praise.
The enemy hates this, don't let it stop you.....it's a defeated foe,
and it's main tactic now is fear (terror) and lies,
in an attempt to neutralize us, rob us of our joy,
and make us ineffective for the Lord Jesus, and for others.
But the battle is the Lord's,
and the Lord has already won the victory!
So begin to praise Him, when you feel like it,
and when you don't.....(and the more we think
about who He is and what He's done for us, the more
we'll 'feel' like it, and all the more joy in kind)
The bible says to draw near to God
and God draws near to us.....
resist the enemy and he'll flee.
The drawing near to God comes first,
draw near with thanks and praise,
resist the temptation to fear or doubt God
or believe the lies that God doesn't love you
or can't or won't save you. That enemy must flee.
Paul said in the bible, 'Rejoice in the Lord always,
and again I say, Rejoice!'
(He said it twice, I guess he means it!)
The Psalmist said in the bible that we are to
Enter the Lord's gates with thanksgiving,
and enter His courts with praise.
I think you get the idea here.
(and I need to hear it and put it into practice more myself).
Of course, we should have on the full armor of God,
but what that armor should be protecting
is a heart of rejoicing in God our Saviour Jesus!
Stay in His Word, Stay in the love of God,
Pray from the position that Jesus has
already won the victory, (He has), and Rejoice.
Feel free to pm, I try to answer as I can,
and I'll send a friend request,
but you don't have to reply,
unless it's as the Lord leads.
God bless you!
And, Btw, (anybody).....
if you see me not holding to my own advice,
Pls remember that I'm still just a sinner saved by grace,
a bumbling sheep with alot to learn,
so please don't hesitate to pm me and
nudge me back on the path as well. Thanks.
