I'm 20 years old and I got hooked on heroin when I was 16. last year I entered a Christian rehab for a year. During my time in the program I truly saw the love and the power of God (considering I had known nothing of Him before this). However, I got out and came back home in April and it's been a huge struggle being back in the world after a year in a sort of safe bubble. I still read my bible and pray everyday but come night time I'm crying myself to sleep feeling like I'm being crushed by these temptations.. I never thought staying clean would be this hard and I know if I use again I WILL die- it was only a matter of time for me. I'm scared of relapsing.. Please pray for me and maybe give me some scriptures I can meditate on or just an encouraging word, it would mean so much. Thank you.

Read Psalm 27 kjv. And again. Then once more, and claim verse 5 as your own, and when you see the word 'Rock', it is referring to Jesus.
You can hide inside the Lord, the Rock of Ages, and He also is the Rock that the verse is referring to that you can stand upon, and you are secure on Him because He has already won the victory for you and you are eternally secure in Him. Jesus loves you.

We addicts will always be addicts. Not saying we keep on the self-destructive bus, but we sure need something good to replace it. We're prone to all-or-nothing, so use that. You dropped a habit without replacing it with something that you are just as driven with. You need to replace it. I don't know your personality to guess what you can get passionate about, but, at first, I helped other addicts. Then when it was time to leave that environment, (have you noticed how few have stayed clean? Thoroughly bummed me out, so couldn't keep doing it), I tried counseling at a runaway shelter, then taking in stray cats, (addictive personalities should only do that if they're very rich and love to clean, 'cuz it gets stinky lol), then crafts. Now I'm into writing. Same addictive personality doing something constructive.

Don't replace the harmful habit and all you can do is stare into that hole. Get busy so you have no hole to stare into.

Dont be scared! God said that he didnt give you a spirit of fear.

2 Timothy 1:17
For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

Proverbs 3:5Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.…

And Phil 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Get active! Everytime you feel anxious go exercise! Go to the gym. Ride a bike. Just workout your body and get those endorphins released. It will relax you and yo will sleep and think better.
Hang out with Christians and get involved doing things with Christians. Pray with them and ask them to be your accountability partners.

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! Phil 4:13
Lean on Christ. Cry out for God to deliver you from this stronghold. If you believe that he will he will!

God delivered me from 4 addictions in a very short amount of time!
I am nothing special but God is! God is bigger than your pain. God is bigger!
God is so good!!

Praise the Lord in song and dance.
I will be praying for you.
You can do this! Just trust that God can get you past this!! Trust!!

Jesus came to set the captives free!

Believe that you are a new creation in Christ! You are!!
And read the bible every day.
Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God!! Romans 10:17

Im very proud of you!! You can do this. Lean on your savior. Write to me if you need me. I am here for you!

You are so special and loved . Jesus loves you so very much! HUGS

You know I've noticed something about your post. Not matter what problem a person is asking about, no matter what the situation, you always point them somewhere other than Christ. "Oh your freaking out and have no one to talk to and there are no Christians in you family or town? Go see a doctor quick. Oh you are an addict? Find a new hobby." You do realize that Jesus is literally the answer to everything as a Christian right? I mean I am sure you have the best intentions, and are truly trying to help, but a Christian pointing everywhere but Christ just seems weird to me. I know this issue very well personally, and Jesus is the ONLY answer to it. I hope I didn't come off too hard and hope you have a nice day, I just noticed that going through a few threads today.

God Bless you Nicole! He loves YOU so much. His Son did it ALL for you. Your brothers and sisters in Christ love you too, and want to help in any way we can.

Dear Heavenly Father, please let the realization that Nicole need not struggle any longer, that You are in control, and have a great plan for her life, sink deep into her soul. Give her Your Peace that passes all understanding, and put many Godly people in her life to help her through the rough times.

In Jesus perfect Name I pray.

Hi there Nicole ... we are no longer anything but new creations, I don't believe branding ourselves as anything makes the struggle any easier sister. We can only rely on the power and grace of God. I did Teen Challenge 10 years ago, so I know the difficulties associated with coming home. The only advice I can give you is ensure you have the right people around you, to support you, that you can be open and honest about your feelings and where your at. The other thing is that if temptation becomes to much, seriously consider moving from old areas, where you can break mental and emotional ties with your past. This helps empower us, till we have been on the "free boat" for a longer period of time. Remember the issues that provoked you to use in the first place may not yet have been dealt with. Renewal of the mind, trauma, pain rejection and fear takes time to work through. I had an excellent counsellor who helped me process the "stuff" that was overwhelming me, and work through unresolved past issues. Sorry for all the advice ... just with my past herion addiction I just thought I would share my penny worth. I've been clean for 10 years now, but I've needed support and open, trusting relationships. God bless you Praying :D

Hello my sweet sister, I thank God that's it his power and might that delivers us through his free grace offered to us by receiving the blood of Jesus, I pray strength and encouragement to you now. I pray peace over your mind and protection over every thought that dosent line up with the truth of who you are now in him.. A new creation.

Thankyou Father that you call us by our name, That u see Nicola as clean and spotless.. I pray she would have a deeper revelation of your love for her, I silence the mouth of every tempting, deceiving and accusing spirit. I thankyou father for the manifestation of the mind of Christ.. She is no longer an addict, She is free. Allow that truth to permeate your soul my beauty.

I love the song "cornerstone" by Hillsong, It says "When darkness seems to hide his face, I rest on your unchanging grace"
When tempted know that in every weakness u have his grace is more than enough (2 Corinth 12:9) Im praying for you. You are going to see the glory of God. Prasie him for your life xxxxx
