I pray that god helps my fiance deal with the shock he has had. I'm lost for words sometimes and don't know always what to say, when he mentions things. Its taking time to get over his stroke and he's just realised he was in a critical condition when he first had the stroke. he mentions he eyes have changed and his face, but I'm so lost for words sometimes I know how anxious he gets. I always try to. be strong but faced with my fiance insecurity it's hard. Thank you Jesus for getting us this far, if I was to pray out loud I wouldnt know where to start. Amen

Heavenly Father, I pray for Happyface and her fiance I ask that they would be able to come to terms with her fiances stroke. Give Happyface the strength to support her fiance and we ask that he would continue to recover. In the name of Jesus Amen

When we talk about the beginning of all this, hubby gets this look on his face that says both "I want to know all I missed" along with "I really don't want to know any of it." Me being me, I do talk about it. Mostly because it fits in with today. (I remember when I saw speckle bruising on his elbow that first made me wonder if he had bedsores I didn't know about. Now he is still suffering through wound care, but it's so much better, so I tell him how much better it is from the beginning.) Sometimes I tear up, occasionally I choke up, sometimes he tears up or chokes up, but we're missing a part of our life together even when we were together, because he doesn't remember much of it.

I don't think its wrong to not be the brave one. Nice to know you were as scared as he just got. Scared is love in a different form, so he finds out how scared you were and still stuck by him. That's a good thing in the reality of how bad it got.

I just found out today we have different opinions about the new likelihood he is more endanger of a stroke than most people. I assumed he went the way I did -- yes, cutting off the warfarin raises his risk at scary levels (5-7% any year), but in my mind at least he has a life now. Before, all he had was trip after trip needing more blood quickly getting dangerously close to bleeding out internally. Now he can eat, walk (with walker still) and took some steps for the first time. High likelihood of a stroke, but he's getting his life back.

In his mind, he's still dickering over if the price was too high. He doesn't want the stroke. (Neither do I, of course.) This surprised me, but if we aren't honest with each other we never know what the other is going through.

This will most likely be an obstacle for the rest of his life. It's not his fault, or yours. I pray God gives both of you tolerance and patience..
