no the dr.s refuse to give me pain medication due to the crack down because of all the heroin users. I live in ny state and they are the biggest crack down state I get to go to pain clinic but it is a month away i have to suffer until the the emergency room would not even help me.
That is a real shame. I pray that the pain clinic will prescribe the appropriate medication to alleviate the unbearable pain but that is a month away and you are hurting today. My heart goes out to you as well as my prayers.

i always hear my boss tell patients to expect to be sore after the adjustment, and to use ice on the area for 15 mins at a time.

i know there are some cases chiropractic isn't enough. that's when my boss recommends for the patient to see a neurosurgeon.

My chiropractor recommends both massage therapy and strength training along with the adjustments.

Speaking from first hand experience with a herniated disk, IT WON'T "let up" UNTIL you get either steroid patches and/or steroid injection to make the swelling go down. I had to have THREE injections in my back AND I was on steroid patches also. A herniated disk is NOT like a simple random back pain caused by a stretched muscle. It's caused by trauma, or REALLY heavy lifting.. In my case I slipped and fell on ice and landed right on the left side of my back, which is where, and why, it herniated.. Until you get the inflammation down, there will be no relief at all. And YES, chiropractic can make a herniated disk worse if you play around with a person's back. My herniated disk started in November 2014, and went through to March or April of 2015. After I had my third steroid injection, the herniation went away. I've been to PT twice now, and am doing much better although my left leg is still weak from where the sciatica made it almost totally useless. That's what, almost 2 years later now, and I'm STILL dealing with the after effects of a herniated disk..
