So I was thinking that sometimes God takes the desire to sin in a certain area, but sometimes He doesn't. If anyone knows me then you probably know what area I still deal with, and the desire to sin is still there when the situation arises.

could part of our issue as humans be that we expect to not have desire to sin once saved, or rather we a think God would, take it away? Like I said, sometimes He does, but doesn't sometime He not? Is it that we give ourselves s the excuse of "well if God took the desire away I wouldn't do this"? Isn't that sort of the inverse of "the devil made me do it"?

i dunno, just spitballing.

You'll get your victory, Steph. There will be that time where you will no longer fall in that area. I do have a few scriptures for you.

James 1:14-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

1 Corinthians 10:13 New King James Version (NKJV)

13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

There was a certain sin that had run rampant in my life for a while, and it took some struggling to be free of it, but I noticed that a lot of what led up to me sinning that way was directly influenced by where I let my mind go, and what I allowed myself to see and hear. I had to keep myself from those things in order to not sin, because doing those things would eventually lead to me sinning. It reminds me of this verse:

Matthew 18:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.

I know that sometimes it is hard, and sometimes we want to do x, y, or z, that our flesh screams for it, but we mustn't give in. I'll be praying for your victory. :)
