John (hubby) is doing significantly better than he was. (He's home, no longer in need of in-home support, and can do most things he used to be able to do before the heart attack -- some things he is actually better at than before the heart attack), but Restless Limb Syndrome (RSL) hits as he's trying to fall asleep and stops him from sleeping until he's utterly exhausted. He's now sleeping all day, and up all night.

He'd like to sleep at night and do stuff (like grocery shopping, join a gym, and go for healthcare appointments) during the day.

Please pray for him. Thanks.

Is he following doctor's orders?

I got RLS from blood loss a few years ago. Horrible! I asked God, "Please, please, help me!" I had to stand at the PC and type "searches" for RLS reasons & remedies. For me, it was a lack of "plant iron" NOT "heme" iron. Heme iron =animal flesh
Plant iron=things like RAISINS, SPINACH,etc. Which also i think i added b5 or b6? And cal/mag/zinc supplement. I WAS FRANTIC FROM THE EXTREME LEG MOVEMENT. Prayng for death it was so bad, so extreme, so relentless.

I GOT WELL ON JUST THOSE NATURAL HELPS. The mechanism seems to be the crucial deficiency of plant based iron in the DOPAMINE FEEDBACK "Loop" as without the key nutrients/elements supplied, the system that "stops movement of the limbs at rest" goes haywire. Please research it for yourself if High- Powered drugs are being suggested to you first. I am praying for you both. Amen!

BTW! THE IRON DEFICIENCY IS IN THE BRAIN! Grey Matter. I can't believe I forgot that. And getting just the "right amount" in is the crux of the problem if it is just a deficiency. If it is some other disorder, all bets are off. A Neurologist/Expert's help needed. I hope not though. Hugs! Amen!

Praying Lynn, I've had the restless leg syndrome, it's much better now. I was deficient on Vitamin D, Iron and Magnisum, but I know it's not the same for everyone. I do know it's miserable. I hope he gets relief soon.

His RSL is relieved by large amounts of iron. It was abated for a few years with the iron. Now with the amount of blood he lost over those months, it was raised even higher, and hasn't been decreased. Yet his RSL has increased.

Side effect -- iron "binds." He kind of accepted that when it worked, but the last time he was in the ICU (which he shouldn't have been sent there) was from bleeding hemis, so I'm not thrilled with this side effect. And the RSL is back, so it doesn't seem fair to get the bad effects of iron without the positive effects.

I started getting RLS when I was in grade school, everyone told me that it was just 'growing pains'
yeah, I did get tall, but the ability to keep my legs still when I went to bed, and the pain was
over-whelming...nobody really cared../ I would fall asleep from exhaustion...

fast forward to adulthood, and yes, it was still a very painful part of my life...

hubby and I have found certain natural herbs and such that has' helped immensely', not to mention
that when it does really get bad and I lay there for hours, not wanting to disturb hubby's sleep,
he is always willing and never cranky when I go to my limit, 'when sometimes nothing will help',
and he rubs me down with 'Tea Tree Oil' and this almost always gives me a time space where
I can fall asleep from exhaustion...

Ya know, I had forgotten how I cried (quite often as a child)from leg pain as a prepubescent. Perhaps there is something more at work. I had many injuries as a child and then adult too. I am just now understanding/admitting how much I was abused as a child. Sad

so sorry lisalove,

I've learned that often our Lord waits until we are older to reveal unpleasant and painful
experiences, for then we are hopefully more mature and can deal with them and understand
them in a better light and then learn to let them no longer have any power over us...

There is a wonderful medicine out for this problem , it is called Ropinirole and I think that I take a 5 mg.pill at bedtime, it takes care of the problem, and the dr. said we could go up it necessary.

Nobody, I mean nobody should have to go thru abuse, it is demonic & evil, Hell is too good for people who abuse children.

RLS is so awful. No one can truly understand unless they have it. While painless, it's such an annoying feeling to feel like there are bugs all inside of your legs (this is how I describe it). It has prevented many sleeps for me, too.

Praying for your husband. I hope he feels much needed relief soon.
