Please pray for my grandfather. He is over 80 years old, and I was just told by my mother that he has been falling a lot lately, and today he fell into the glss front of the china cabinet in his home... He is cut up and bruised badly, but absolutely refuses to let my grandmother take him to the hospital.

My mother and aunt did some research online and found that these could be cause by things that are basically like mini-strokes. The site where they found this imformation said that when people start having these little strokes, usually within a month they have a massive stroke and can die.

My grandmother said that if this happens again, she is not giving him a choice about the hospital, and will just call an ambulance to come pick him up instead of trying to convince him to let her take him.

I am very worried because I am very close to this man. He lives in the same town as me, so I was blessed as a child to spend time with him and my grandmother.

As far as I know, he is not saved. He is a very stubborn old man, and doesn't like to be told what to do/think/believe.

Allthough I agree that she should definitely call an ambulance if it happens again, it does not have to be a stroke,
it can be a condotion elderly sometimes get where they "black out" for a short time, almost as if they fell asleep.

I'll pray for him

Hows gramps now? Any more episodes? I agree about calling the ambulance unless there is someone who could get him to go on his own. perhaps you?? I would say listen up you have a choice, you can get your butt in my car or you can go by ambulance and pay for the ride but either way we are absolutely going to the hospital. I think you may find him headed out to the car. Bless you, these times are so very hard when health deteriorates and they dont want assistance (thats totally normal, my mom didnt walk for 5 months... scooted herself on an office chair, refused a wheelchair) I finally just brought her the chair & didnt listen to her.

Havn't heard anything more about him having any more little episodes, thank God. Turns out that he may have overdosed himself on one of his medications, and that may have been causing the problems, but we don't know for sure.

That can happen alot at his age, sometimes it can be as simple as a mild interaction of meds.
It would be a good idea for your mom to just give the dr a call if she sees any sign of it again.
Grandpa is still in my prayers, as is all of your family.
God bless, pickles
