I know it's disturbing... but I've been addicted to porn since I was 11... I'm going on 8 years of a porn addiction...

I've tried to stop in the past, but every time I do, something comes up, and it's turned into my "go to" thing when I'm feeling upset, or depressed, or anything else like that. Needless to say, it's seriously hindered my walk with God... in fact, it's gotten to the point where I don't think I even have a walk anymore...

I kepp trying to agive it all to God, but I don't know how. I don't know how to realease all my burdens to Him, and I'm tired of pretending to be a Christian for the sake of my friends. I still want to be a Christian... but I don't know what that means anymore...

Please be at peace in your spirit, sister.. Just because you are addicted to porn does not mean you can't be a christian or walk with God. All of us have our vices. For some it is alcohol, some turn to drugs or food or sex..none of us are perfect and God knows this. That is why He must grant us His mercy. Without His mercy none of us could be saved. Can you imagine how absurd it would be if the God who created you, every cell in your body, gave you beauty, knowledge and the ability to love, to touch other lives, breathed life into you, keeps your heart beating, provides for you, saves you from evil...this same God would turn His back on you because you can't stop looking at porn?

Sister, please let peace rule in your heart. God is with you. Jesus is with you. You believe in Him and so you..imperfect and human as you are...are saved! To believe anything else is to give in to the lies of the devil.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beleiveth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 KJV

Good words zero!
Panda girl, every one struggles with something. Just keep talking to Jesus, he loves to listen and wants to help you.
I will pray the prtective power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus over you. I will also pray that Jesus shows you how to fill that place in yourself.
God bless, pickles

Thank you Pickles :)

Panda_girl,

I would like to add this important point. Are you familiar with the story of Paul (the apostle)?. Before he became St. Paul he was Saul of Tarsus, chief persecuter of christians. According to his own testimony he actually killed many christians:

"I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison..."
Acts 22:4 NIV

As we all know, Paul is one of the twelve apostles, and an author of the Gospel. While on the road to Damascus he was visited by Jesus himself and appeared to him as "a blinding light from heaven", and the Lord asked him "why do you persecute me?" Paul said "who are you?" The Lord replied, "I am Jesus whom you persecute." (see Acts 22:6-11)

My point is that if God and Jesus, Our Savior could accept this man who murdered many devout followers of Christ, how then can they not acept one who is guilty of a much lesser sin? Not only was Paul accepted, but He became one of the greatest teachers and follower of Christ that ever lived!

I am praying for you I do understand what its like to have that addiction , all the shame and guilt that goes with that but we can be free you from that addiction just like me Jesus came and died so we can be set free .. I will pray that you will be set free from this .. we can not do it on our strength .. Lean on him to help you, don't give up.... The Lord will always forgive when we fall ,...we have to just ask him for forgiveness and have HIM pick us back up again. Ask him to give strength ..

panda_girl:

I went through a season of life where you are right now. The key is to not allow yourself to attribute this to your identity, and never allow yourself to wear shame because of it. God knows where you are at and is not angry with you. I don't know if you saw this before, but I posted my testimony of how I got out of this on a different thread on here, but here is a direct link to it:

You are dearly loved by your Father in heaven. Don't let the devil get you into shame or convince you that it isn't safe to continually approach God and ask for help, and never ever give up!
