Lately, my work place has been turning into a toxic environment. There are a group of about 8 of us there who profess to be Christians and there has been too much back biting lately (even among professing Christians there), which has caused to me lose my temper a bit on occasions.

Just recently, I got upset and said a few choice words (instead of receiving encouragement from other Christians) one person who is a professing Christian tried to egg me on to get even madder and another person who is also a professing Christian talked with him behind my back, slamming me by saying it's people like me who give Christians a bad name, even though that particular back biter is well known for being hateful and having a terrible work ethic.

The person who she talked with behind my back then told me what she said in hopes to stir up trouble. It's really gotten off the deep end silly lately at work! It's been like high school from hell! Please pray that I will remain patient and not lose my temper at work and for peace between us all there.

Always try to understand that this world brings many challenges. People are nasty at times. But this is what the world is like. We are surrounded by evil and awful attitudes. Pray to God and don't allow others to ruin your good nature.

mail,

it's obvious that Jesus is trying your mettle...how can we get a leg-up on the depth of our Faith
if we are not allowed to be challenged?

like you inferred, it is juvenile behavior or below, that we must never partake-of, but sometimes 'fall-into'...

may you 'rise-above, rise above' in your becoming the precious man that Jesus has called you to be...

I really get this, I find the workplace extremely trying. Trust me it is just as bad working among non-Christians who are forever comparing your behaviour to what they deem to be "Christian-like" - it's impossible to live up to for we are still in the process of being sanctified and will not have reached our full potential. It is not easy being a Christian in the workplace where swearing and innuendo is the norm.

I will pray for you bro and remember it's better to say nothing at all if you are provoked into anger. God bless you.

I drive out the spirit of strife and oppression off of their job. I pray that your peace is within those walls. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Thank you so much for praying and God bless all of you! :)

What makes this situation very difficult for me is that we used to have a prayer group at work that met in the break room at the same time and we all prayed together (including the two people that I mentioned). Now they make us take our breaks on the street so the prayer group came to an end. This really hurt our fellowship at work.

After a few years had passed by, one of the members ended up getting a divorce (his wife left him because of infidelity on his part) and the other member has complained that she caught her husband cheating on her with three different women, yet they remain married! Both of them are very bitter now and continuously stir up conflict and division. We used to have good Bible discussions together. They are not even the same people anymore.

The Bible tells to overcome the evil with good.
Father God we pray let you please control the situation , stop the darkness to work and destroy the peace and joy in this work place. Bless them all including mailmandan and others to have your peace and understanding and protect them from the evil power. We pray let your peace prevail and your name, be lifted up. In Jesus name, Amen!

Forgot to mention: In addition to, "she caught her husband cheating on her with three different women, yet they remain married" and she claims that she will remain married to him until her youngest child turns 18 and then she will finally divorce him or else she will end up having to pay him alimony.

Since most of the mail is machine sorted now (DPS, FFS) we spend only about 2 hours in the office and most of our time is spent on the street. I enjoy my customers more than my co-workers anyway. ;) Thank you for praying!

Geez, I see that you are going through quite a tough time. People can be jerks like that sometimes. I feel you.
Sure thing.

I am so sorry and it makes it harder because it seems like you've developed much more than a work relationship. I'm just wondering if they don't notice their change, but know something is not right. Have you ever thought about going in in to work early before others get there and annoint that place with oil, denouncing the spirit of strife and condemnation? I would also consider playing Christian music ever so quietly so you don't offend customers lol and that help with the environment.

Dan I can totally empathize with you....my job, the one God placed me in after graduation has become a toxic work environment. I had a male coworker come in to the office and go off at the mouth and I stood up and said "you don't have to treat me this way " He backed me in the corner and threatened me, my coworkers plant things and can never take responsibility for their actions and expect me to listen to them degrade and abuse others over the phone and in email. Just know that you aren't alone and God is always on your side...that helps give me peace. I have to verbally remind myself to be the epitome of who Christ is and no matter what people say or do to me I have to turn the other cheek and I put on my earphones and listen to Christian music or an online church program and that helps. God bless you, Dan
