The funniest thing is that I think oh I'll be fine I feel OK I have no idea what's coming I need to pray for strength because I really again have no idea what it's going to be like

None of us knows what the future holds, all we can do in difficulties is do our part,
be positive, move forward, trust, pray, deal with the practicalities under Gods
guidance and let God deal with the rest - the too hard, the incomprehensible, the I don't
know what to does, the this is out of my hands stuff, and so much more.

This might sound strange but have you considered starting a diary, one which you can use
to focus your thoughts and feelings. One in which you can write down prayers and add
bible verses and words of encouragement.

In hard times it can be difficult to focus thoughts and it's all too easy to focus on the
negatives and not the positives. A diary would help with that.

God bless.

That's....

That's actually a great idea. Good suggestion!\

So a little update, he's actually going to the Cancer Treatment Center tomorrow. It's a 7am start and we will be there most likely til around 5pm I think. It will be doctors telling dad what they're gonna do, getting tests done that need to be done, and doing the big consultations that will give us the schedule of what's happening.

Fingers crossed and prayers up for sure

Currently at the CTCA and holy moly is it nice. And I mean like 1960s ski lodge for Hollywood starlets nice. Beginning consultation. Tomorrow is speaking to I think the surgeons, and Friday is the oncologists. They may try to shrink the tumor first before operating, that way it has less effect on his stomach.

I pray that all goes well for your father. With the way medicine is advancing and with God's help, your father may beat this cancer and live to a ripe old age.

I think keeping a personal diary is a great idea I actually used to write down my thoughts and prayers like a maniac to God all the time I had an entire set of three journals and wow it really does help with stress and worry and it really helped me to bond with God

Hi ArtsieSteph, I'm sorry to hear about your Father, I can relate to you as I've lost an aunt and an uncle to cancer in the past 14 years. So cancer is definitely in my side of the family. And these days my mother is getting older and has thyroid issues and is well into her 60's now and my father too has health issues with Arthur (Arthritis). So I know that it's a possibility any of us could get cancer and have to deal with it when it comes about. I pray to God that it doesn't and pray for the health and well being of both of them daily. And will remember you and your father in my next prayers too.

God bless you all in these testing times of our faith. These things we cannot understand but just know they have a higher purpose to them. I'd like to leave you with something that you may be able to find some comfort and strength in.

The story of the of the man who was born blind in John 9:3 where his disciples asked the Lord if he was born blind because of his father or his mothers sins. But Jesus told them neither but was rather born that way so that the Gods glory would be manifested in him.

Jesus Heals the Man Born Blind
John 9:2-3. His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened that the works of God would be displayed in him.

In the same way, all of our weaknesses, ailments, illnesses and diseases can be used to display Gods glory and works in us. Whether that's through you praying in faith, to fasting and praying and praising and glorifying God through it all. To you actually physically healing your father through faith. Faith that's as small as a mustard see but can move mountains.

So stay faithful and stay strong! Draw close to God and above all else, trust in Him no matter what! Trust in Him the same way that Abraham did when Gold told him to kill his son. But at the last minute send an angel to stop him.

And finally, for serenity. The serenity prayer. I sometimes need reminding of this!

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
God bless you and your family.

So after talking to the oncologist yesterday it was determined that my father will be starting chemotherapy on Thursday. The way it's set up is that they put the port inside of his body meaning a little area for the chemo liquid to go in and then they attach a pump that pumps out the chemotherapy drug for 48 hours and then he goes back to the cancer treatment center of America and gets the pump taken off. To my knowledge the port is going to be there basically the entire time he has his chemotherapy and or treatment meaning it will be there for about seven weeks so he has to deal with basically having a hole in his shoulder for that amount of time...

Parent Lee he's not gonna lose his hair which is funny and good for him but he will have to deal with the looks if he has to keep that portion of his shoulder clear of any clothing or anything like that so pray for that would be nice. Also big prayers for me and my mom would be appreciated since they basically said during his chemotherapy time he is going to be very very very immune deficient so even just having the sniffles means that I would have to quarantine myself in my room and not be around him at all. My aunt Retha said that she knew a teacher that went to school as a teacher during that time that she also had cancer and chemotherapy and she was fine but she had to sanitize everything and also the kids couldn't get any closer than a few feet. If I'm sick I can't hug my daddy and that sucks.

Any prayers for him his health and our family would be immensely appreciated.
