They found a tumor in his stomach that is eating away a little in his abdomen wall. He isn't getting surgery on Monday, and possibly chemo for I don't know how many weeks after he's recovered from that. The big thing is making sure the cancer hasn't metastaticied into different organs, which would give him even less time.

Things are going in motion already. Dad's going to the cancer treatment centers of America, we're talking about getting a smaller house for the costs, and we're currently about to tell his mother and my grandma about this. I'm supposed to stay there in case she has stroke or something from the shock.

Daddy may only have around 5 years.

i don't know how to deal with this than to just be happy with him in the moments we have left. He also says to get screenings because that means his side has cancer in our genes

*hugs Steph*

"May have only 5 years left" is NOT an absolute given.. Only GOD can decide when it is your father's time to go. And who knows, hopefully the surgery/rads/chemo will take care of it all for him. :) Cancer is NOT (always) a death sentence. Natania (TemporaryCircumstances) and I, are walking, talking, living and breathing examples of that..

Look up these scriptures:

Psalm 23
Luke 1:37
Philippians 4:13

My dad has bone cancer and he had to go through chemo and now has to take an expensive drug once every 3 months to keep it in remission, My mom took a fall recently and broke her hip and is slowly recovering.. So i know what it is like to see a loved one going through this and all the stress and finacial struggles that arise because of it.. All we can do is make do with the situations that come to us in life.. With God we have the knowledge that we are not alone in our struggles.. But how dark is it for people who face such situations without the Hope of eternal life with God?

I hope the teatments your dad is going through are sucessful.. I hope your dad is right with God no matter what the outcome.. His will be done..

I am praying for you, your father and all your family. When you have a diagnosis like this it is unbelievable difficult to deal with over time you come to terms with it. It is really possitive that the cancer hasn't metastaticied.

As blue_ladybug said God is in control over how long your father has left. It is notoriusly difficult for them to give accurate prognosis. It is normally x number survive x length of time. They will have a clearer idea after they have done surgury and analysed the tumor. If it isn't too invasive as in gone through all the layers of the stomach the prognosis is a lot better. I also wanted to say my grandad was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the 1940's or 1950's had half his stomach removed and spleen and he lived a further 40-50 years without the cancer returning. Died at the age of 93. Not all cancers are genetic many are not, so even if you have a genetic screen you may or may not develop cancer.

From someone who is married to someone with a life limiting condition (heart failure), trust God he is in control, take one day at a time, make the most of life, be thankful. I am praying that the surgery would go well, that they would be able to remove the tumor completely, that he would come through the surgery well, recover quickly and that you would all be aware of God's love at this time.

Praise you Heavenly father. We thank you for your steadfast love and tender mercies that never cease. Please intervene in this mans life and interpose your will in this situation. Please guide the surgeons hands with your own and heal this man and give peace of mind to his family. In Jesus name, Amen.

Aw Steph I'm so sorry. Take this one day at a time,
let it sink in. Find out as much information as you can as early on as
possible.

Number one dont be afraid to be sad, disappointed or even angry at God if you
feel like that. God has big shoulders, He knows your thoughts, your concerns, your
worries. Take it all to Him. Be real in front of God and don't feel guilty about it.

Many times in hard situations I've ended up feeling like I should be stronger because I'm a
Christian, then ended up feeling guilty for not being stronger. Then I realised
that it is weakness that God can work the most on our behalf.

Lord be with Steph, her dad and family. Work out all the practicalities and finances I
pray. Draw them closer together as a family and closer to you. Do what the doctors
cannot do Lord. Bring your supenatural peace to this situation Lord.

All i can say is god has had His hand in it the whole time. They were able to give him 2 endoscopes in two days to find it, was able to schedule the procedure right away, and he was able to not only get insurance covered for cancer treatment center so of America, but also he has someone he knows who is the major person for new patients and specifically had a stomach doctor to recommend.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad’s health condition, friend. I know it’s not easy to see a loved one suffer so much. The Lord has reasons of His own for allowing such difficult circumstances to enter our lives; we definitely have no way of knowing what His purposes are in permitting this trial. Remember, He cares for your dad very much. I will be praying for him, asking God to touch his body and ease his mind. Take comfort in God’s mercy, and remember the words of the apostle James: “The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up...” (James 5:15).

Yup he's saved. And all I know is whatever he goes through here, he will be with the Lord wherever the end point is. Whether that be in a year or 20

Things are moving along well, Dad has meetings with the cancer treatment center tomorrow, they're sending his medical experts abd evrything. It's going so well so far and I'm so excited to see things going. I'm hopeful but I have no idea why. In a good way!
