In Layman's terms, that's foot surgery coming on Friday...with 2 weeks off of work. I stand a lot so am looking forward to sitting and sleeping. However, nervous about the surgery. I had a bad report from another cohort. All the surgery she had, went awry. Also, need prayer to strengthen my financial concerns. I know God's got this...but I'm human. And two weeks of wages is hefty.

God bless and thanks in advance. -student

Surgery affects people differently. Some are just fine, others experience problems. May your doctors be given the wisdom and clarity to make your surgery a success. :)

Thanks! I appreciate your prayers. I've had surgeries before and I'm aware it wouldn't be the same outcome. Perhaps because I'm tired a lot lately or just more anxious than usual...this is different. Thanks again.

What, exactly, are they going to do? My wife's doctor told her that unless it was to shave some bone spurs, no surgery is effective for that problem.

He's going to sever a ligament and file off any bone spurs found.

I'd appreciate it if you would let me know how it works out. It's been rough on my wife.

I will most certainly do so...God bless. One thing, I hope she is exercising her foot. Continually doing the 'ABC's " with her foot can help relax the tendons and ligaments...however, this hasn't been as beneficial on this foot. In other words, making the shape of an "A" using her big toe and pronounced foot movements...then the rest of the alphabet. Good exercises as well as a tennis ball rolled from her heel to her arch will help. There are other solutions. INitially, I was given an anti-inflammatory, which helped ease the discomfort for a time, but all they symptoms returned shortly after the meds were gone.

Will pray this works! I had reconstructive surgery in my forefoot, and it turned into my worst nightmare. However, I also have Rheumatoid Arthrits, and between the disease and the meds, it really messed up the surgery. A totally different operation!

Let us know how yours goes!

Surgery went well. Prognosis looks good. The surgeon moved me up to one week of recovery rather than the two week's he'd initially suggested. That's good news, though it was the part I was looking forward to, lol. I love my job...time off is much appreciated. There was one small bone spur and he didn't comment further on the procedure or I was too much under to hear him and remember. Pretty strong pain meds now. All is well thus far. Will update as I can. -student (Thanks for the prayers!)

Willie, Though it's early after surgery, it really went well and I would guess your wife could benefit from it. Perhaps it's a good time to see another podiatrist. Praying for her. That pain is the worst. That and not knowing when it will strike. God bless! -student

Whether the strong pain meds, coming off the sedation meds or just life situations, anxiety has had me wrapped up for a couple of nights. i need prayer. Oxycotin produced hallucinations, day-mares and nightmares. Ibuprofen is strong and tires me. I cut back on Ibuprofen and cut out the other. Pain is indeed tolerable. I'm struggling though. I slept one hour tonight and back up. I sometimes take ativan, but then I'm groggy all day the next day.
