Welcome to CC Art.

How did you get saved? Did a friend help you find the truth or maybe a family member? I just prayed for you to find a great place of worship that preaches God's truth!

That’s a great news, Art! I’m so excited about your decision to follow Christ, and I know it’s extremely important to strengthen your walk with Him. I just said a prayer for you, asking the Lord to lead you to a place of fellowship where your needs will be met in wonderful and unforeseen ways. Also, I’d suggest that you start the habit of reading your Bible daily and praying regularly. May His grace become increasingly evident to you as you look to Him for guidance in the days ahead.

Hi Art! Just said a prayer for you! That's wonderful that you made the decision to follow Christ! Though it won't be easy, it'll be well worth it which I'm sure you already know. You also have some encouraging and wise people on this chat who'd be delighted to help you as well. Welcome to the family! :)

Calvalry Chapel is always a nice place to start....
The best way is to go out and look for Godly people and after you see them and study their works for a while, ask them... "What church do you belong too?"

Welcome aboard CC Art

No matter what Church you attend make sure you get into the Message of Jesus, get yourself a Bible and read the Gosepls Matthew Mark Luke and John and the rest of the New testament.. It is very important to grow in knowledge of salvation.. To progress from being a babe in Christ to being fully grown in the Way of Jesus...

May you be blessed and guided by His Holy Spirit in all your Ways Art.. :D

I don't think you'll find a perfect church. Some people think it's very important that you find a church that is very close to perfect. As for me, I have long belonged to a certain church and believe in the pledge I took when I joined, that I should be loyal to that church. I love my church. It is not perfect.

I would just suggest you start going to different churches until you find one you like. Join it, if you want, and then develop the attitude that you will serve that church to the best of your ability and set the best possible example for the others to follow.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2Ti 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Even in the best Churches there can be a few rascals running around, but God said if they straighten up they can be a vessel of honor, and despite that some will do wrong,it is still a great house, but of course that is they abide in the truth with a few rascals, and not abide in the truth with a lot of rascals, but there probably is not a Church that does not have some that are being a little hypocritical, and the Church should always be friendly to people, and no respecter of persons.

Must claim Jesus as Lord and Savior, and believe in one God,and being led of the Spirit, and love of people is the fulfilling of the law.

Act 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

1Jn 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Jas 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

And whatever the preacher tells you to make sure you know it is true by comparing it to the word of God,which some people trust the preacher so much that they think he cannot be wrong in his interpretation, but God does not give the preacher any more information that a common pew sitter, but gives to all people equally to know His word,so he can be wrong like everybody else if he is wrong.

It can be trial and error to find a Church that is the most compatible with the Bible at first until you learn the Bible better, but the best thing to do is read the Bible, for it is the best chance not be in error concerning the word of God.

Congratulations ArtAttack!! Praise God!!!

i would recommend a book by Bob Sorge - 'Secrets of the Secret Place'. It about your time with the Lord as you read/study/pray.

Lord I asked for steadfastness in his life and his walk. Lord I ask that spirit field people come into his life and give him a great community and options for a Spirit filled "church" whether it's a home group or a traditional Sunday service. Lord I ask that you bless him with Your presence, with your love no matter what is going on in his life, and no matter how he feels what's going on around him that your love is always present in Jesus name amen

If you have any questions, just asked. I would love to hear your story.

Hey, Bro (forever.)

For churches that teach Bible, I recommend reformed churches. There are more than these, but I don't know of others by denominational names. And since "Presbyterian" takes too long to write so often, I'll cut it down to "Pres." Look for:
Reformed Pres. (RP)
Pres. Church of America. (PCA)
Orthodox Pres. (OP)

I do not recommend Pres. Church of USA. (PC - USA. Very mainstream, so God isn't a requirement.)

I agree with what Depleted has posted in considering a bible believing church, especially one that teaches that we are saved and born again by the shed blood of Jesus dying for our sins. I have prayed for the Lord to be with you every step of the way as you begin your spiritual journey and Safe Passage. Glad to have you a new member of our community. Welcome to CC.
