"I don't need anger management, I need people to stop p#ssing me off"

It's not just you, TC. It takes more than one ingredient to make slop and you going to a therapist alone may help you, but not them. And they are as much the problem as you are... more so I'd say. I've spent my life in and out of therapy, and pretty much all of them agreed... I wasn't the one who needed to be there. Most who want to go voluntarily, aren't the ones who need to be there. Those around you need to go to their own just as much, but yeah, what's the chance of that happening?

God bless you, I'm praying for you to find someone to talk to. But I'm praying more for those who create the environment you respond to. May the Holy Spirit let them see their part as well, and bring peace to your home.
Wow! Is this ever backwards. LOL

You don't think your environment has a lot to do with your psycho/spiritual well being? Wasn't a therapist in the world that could fix me, as long as I was surrounded by those seeking to devoir me - and their human playthings called family.

No, I don't. I believe it is how you, yourself, perceive your environment. Could your environment be different... even much better? Of course it could. Most anyone's could. But, it is you who decides how you will act and react. No one else in the whole world.

Well, Willie, I'm happy for you, and I pray you never find yourself in an environment that causes you to question that belief. Because they are out there.

No I'm not on a waiting list.
The thing is, I have to find a therapist who specializes in anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship problems (specifically family)

It's harder than it seems to find people who specialize in all of those :/

The last person we contacted said she was out of availability but recommended us to someone she knows.

Another thing that makes it harder is my father (believe it or not) is a therapist and my mom a social worker, and I'm not aloud to see anyone they know so...

I see your
difficulty.

Do you go to a local church? Some churches have counselors for it's members. That might be something to check into. And if not your church, maybe your pastor could recommend someone at another church close by?

As an encouragement, in Isaiah 9, The Lord is called Wonderful Counselor. I'm sure you probably have already been told that ultimately the Lord can heal the difficult issues of the heart that we deal with. Sometimes it takes a while, but He really is our great and mighty counselor that can help us with whatever we're going through.

Isaiah 61 says this about Jesus our Savior and Lord:

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;
To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them a garland instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Natania, the Lord wants to do an inner work of healing within your heart and soul. I have come from a dysfunctional family......probably all of us have, however some family dynamics though are much worse than others.

The Lord has done a deep healing within my heart that only He can do. And I'm sure others here in CC can probably say the same thing. And I'm sure that Jesus has already helped you and continues to do so daily.

I'm also sure counselors can help, and have helped you, but there are things they can't do in the area of the spiritual person unless of course you find a biblical counselor. :)

Jesus has all the power that can break and loose the bondage of hate and anger, bitterness and unforgiveness that the enemy has implanted within the hearts of mankind. It doesn't mean He'll change others, but He can change us and as we are healed and are different it sometimes has an affect on others around us as well.

The evil, the depravity and the wicked acts can only be attributed to sin and the work of the enemy of our souls. Jesus holds the power to demolish strongholds and everything that lifts itself up above the knowledge of God.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ

Also, Jesus specializes in depression, anxiety, PTSD and family issues as well. I don't want you to think that I'm being unrealistic or super spiritual. Jesus doesn't wave a magic wand and then everything is perfect.

And that's not to diminish what He can do, because He can miraculously heal your heart and soul immediately. He works differently in each one of us. For some it takes time and for others it does seem like it was almost immediate that the pain and agony of past hurts and pain were healed almost instantaneously.

So if for some reason a therapist isn't found anytime soon, I wanted to encourage you that our Lord is at work and He doesn't sleep at night or during the day. He's always working and is always there when no one else is. He's available to talk to at any time of the day or night - for you to pour out your inner most pain and sorrow, thoughts and feelings..........and He understands.

Hebrews 4:14-16
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Please know that I'll be praying.

Thank you that you have blssed Natania with a strong faith in you.Please surround her with godly, wise and loving people and remove people from her life who will hinder her walk with you.
We pray for a resolution to the underlying issues that cause her anxiety and family problems ...and that you will be glorified in and through this situation as you heal your precious daughter.
