Sorry for your sister's loss, Dan. :(

Lord, please give Anita strength and comfort as she goes through this terrible ordeal. Pour your love upon her and help her get through this. In Jesus' name, amen.

My heart breaks for you and your family as much as it breaks for Anita. I know that feeling of helplessness that brings.

Lord, be with Anita as she goes through this very long valley. Be her Still Waters. And bring the words -- or the silence -- to the entire family that they are all comforted by you even in their grief.

As always, work this out for their good and your glory. Amen.

Dan,
One thing I know is the pain doesn't really fully hit until everyone else goes on with their normal lives after the burial. And it's not like there is no pain before that. It just gets worse in the silence when realizing he's never coming through that door again. Be there, at times, for the few weeks after the funeral. Not all the time, because she really does have to get this is how it will be from now on. But visit here and there, so she does remember she still has family walking through that door that cares and loves her.
