Why do you think you cannot do it anymore? Is it the troubles of life or are you simply weary?

And once again Magenta earns a rep for a most heartfelt and beautiful post..... and you must spread reputation before giving to magenta....
Thank you, Blain. Learning to find our rest in Him is a life long process for some of us, and even those who learn this lesson early, still need to practice turning their will and their lives over to the care of God on a daily basis :)

This is very true, I have learned to do this in even the darkest of storms but my friend Mrs.Callaway who have been a Christian since she was little girl which was 47 years ago has yet to learn this. When I spoke to her how when things get tough I go to that still quite place in my heart to be still and know him and to connect to his heart she said how she is never able to do that.
Sometimes it takes many many years to learn certain lessons. btw where do you find all your amazing pictures?

I sometimes spend hours at a time looking for images. Other times, I look for images along certain lines for a specific response and I may find other images I want to keep at the same time, also. I often adjust the image somehow: contrast, density, color, saturation, hue, maybe adding text and a border, and posterizing it a little, depending on what it is. That image of Jesus in the midst of the storm, I added text, and the border, and adjusted the color and contrast a bit, hopefully to improve it :D I am glad you like them :) I did another at the same time that was a bit simpler, like so:

Good news -- you can't. And you never could. THAT is the reason we need Jesus in the first place. He is able, not us. And he shares his ability with us to keep us with him, even when we know we can't. His can beats our can't every time!

Trust him to change you so he can through you. Never that he will give you ability, but that you will see his ability shining through you. It's really cool to experience.

You haven't shared too many details here but remember A life of faith is entirely different from a life of feeling; in fact, the two are opposites. One who lives by feeling does God's will and sets his mind on the things in heaven only when he feels excited. As soon as the pleasant feeling ceases, everything else ceases with it. A life of faith is not this way. Having a life of faith is living by faith. Faith considers the One in whom it believes to be the mastermind, not the believer himself.

Faith does not look at the situation it encounters, but at the One in whom it believes. Although everything around faith may change, if the One in whom it believes has not changed, faith continues on. Faith maintains a relationship with God. It does not depend on feeling; it depends on the God in whom it believes. Faith moves according to the One it believes, while feeling moves according to how it feels.

Faith looks at God, but feeling looks at itself. God never changes; He is the same whether the day is cloudy or sunny. Hence, one who lives by faith is as unchanging as God. His living is the same in darkness or in light. The feeling of a believer constantly changes, and you are experiencing this. Therefore, one who lives by his feeling inevitably leads a life of ups and downs.

God requires that His children not regard enjoyment or pleasure as their objective. So ask yourself, are my goals His goals? He wants them to live only by faith in Him. Just as they run the spiritual course when they feel good, they should keep going when they feel miserable. Their attitude towards God should not vary according to how they feel.

Despite the sense of dryness, tastelessness, and darkness, if they know that a certain matter is according to God's will, they should persist onward, trusting God. Often it seems that there is a rebellion in them. They feel sad, depressed, and discouraged to the point that they want to cease all the activities of their spiritual journey (sound familiar?). However, knowing that the work in this spiritual journey must go on, they should ignore all contradictory feelings and continue to press onward.

This is a life of faith, a life that does not care for feeling but for God's will. If one believes that a certain thing is God's will, even though he has no interest in it, he does it. A person who lives by feeling does things only according to his interest; a person who lives by faith does all of God's will whether or not it is enjoyable.

StingSting undaunted radiance is not built on anything passing, but on the love of God that nothing can alter. The experience of life, terrible or monotonous, are impotent to touch the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus Our Lord. Spend quiet time with your Father thru Jesus. Jesus says, simply, "Come to Me...."
