My Church

Can y'all pray for my church?
My pastor had a huge health scare that caused him to take meds that started to change him. Long story short - he had a meeting with our decons and ministry leaders when he basically told them to pick a new pastor right then. He tried to push a man that most the men in the meeting didn't see as biblically qualified. When he left the meeting he had fired everyone on staff and the rest of the pastors. Now the man he tried to establish as pastor has started his own church. Both these men have been caught in lies and starting rumors. They are campaigning their church to our current members and they are trying to hurt our church for the good of their own.
It's been about a month now and finally the last two weeks we started to see salvation's, baptisms and visitors again, but a lot of our members have been hurt and need to heal. We voted in an interim pastor and our goal is to stay in God's will with our next steps.

LOTS of changes in your church ! I will pray for the healing of your congregation that I'm sure are experiencing confusion with all that is going on. I will pray for the senior Pastor that has been mind altered by meds too. I'm thinking that once he is healed he can come back and resume his position? I pray for you also that you stand strong while God's plan is in action. It isnt easy I know, at times. The body of Christ in the church is most held together by its believers NOT just its Pastor. You seem sensitive to what others are going through, as well as what you are going through yourself. I would gather those you know and trust together, into your home or maybe one of the others and form a prayer group so you can all pray for guidance together.

Yes lots of changes. Thank you so much. No, he won't, it is a heart condition and he probably won't ever get off the meds plus he is a pastor at the new church. I have seen the pain, anger and tears for many people over this whole thing and I pray for peace for everyone involved daily. Our ladies have banded together and have had a few pray meetings for the whole thing. Thank you again.

This definitely sounds more complicated than I'd imagined. Your senior Pastor had a health scare ...made a lot of quick decision to leave his church and appoint another...and then went to a NEW church.? Almost sounds like he wanted a reason to go to this new church anyways ! I wonder if anyone decided to follow him to this new church. There might be political reasons, the kind Pastors never really talk about . If he was a Pastor you all most loved I wonder if your supposed to follow? Oh you KNOW I'd be over there asking what's up lol. Pastors kind of hold their breath when they see me coming anyways ..just to prepare for my questions.

He always got his way within the church and when he didn't it's like he threw a fit but ended up getting his way with the new church. Yes people followed him, my own in-laws did, and most the people who did just believe you follow your pastor and don't need to find the truth or just find the "truth" that you like. It's a huge mess.
My father is a decon and my husband and I are good friends with a few others so we have been talking to them to find out what is going on and they all have given the same story multiple times, so that is where we are basing our facts with the whole thing.
I was on FB and saw some people saying stuff and this started to weigh heavy on my heart again that's why I came and asked for prayers.

Well you definitely have mine Jazzlynn. It's a good post you put up because I'm sure many struggle with some of these same questions as they listen to sermons in their church, concerning God's message and truth. It's so important. I pray Jesus to comfort you through your journeys and I pray for your church . God Bless you and show you the path to take .

Lord we pray for this Church, please protect from getting destroyed, and bless. Lord let you bring changes in this Church for your glory, and let Satan be not able to steal your sons and daughters, please protect and bless, in Jesus Holy name, Amen!
