Hi everyone. My grandma went to be with the Lord last night and I'm struggling to come to grips with life without her here and now with me. She was so awesome and it's shaken my world. As well as for my mum and all my grandma's children, any prayer for comfort, compassion, strength and gratitude would be much appreciated. Thankyou so much.

Your grandmother is partying before the throne of God now. Almost makes me jealous.

I'm praying Laura. A death is always hard, especially when it just happened.

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Thankyou to everyone who is praying, it is much appreciated. Life is extremely challenging to face without the physical presence beside us of our amazing Nonna, it would be much more painless to follow her, so I'm taking things a day at a time. Thankyou again for your prayers.

I hope there's not a lot of seriousness to that accusation. If you feel you can't bear it, do your best to lean on Christ. (And even if you can for that matter.) I get the feeling you need a really big hug for crying. Unfortunately, most of us are all over the world, but I pray that you get that hug from the Holy Spirit and that you would receive a peace that passes all understanding.

Prayers for you and your family Laura, in this time of grieving and loss.

As we reflect on our losses, that which we value comes into sharper focus.

May we strive always to honor that place of peace, acceptance, and unconditional
love, being grateful for friends and family who profoundly move and shape us.

On Joy and Sorrow
by Kahlil Gibran

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.
And the selfsame well from which your laughter
rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.

And how else can it be?

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being,
the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup
that was burned in the potter's oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit,
the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find
it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see
that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow,"
and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."

But I say unto you, they are inseparable.

Together they come, and when one sits, alone with you at
your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.

Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.
When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his
silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.
