The damage was catastrophic and unlike anything this region has ever seen before and they are predict 50" of rain within a week setting a record unset by anything in the past and already the city is completely in dis-array and dysfunctional. They did not call an evacuation of the city when one was seriously needed and the damage here is on a catastrophic and unbelievable level with the only thing that I have seen that is on-par is Hurricane Katrina. Houston is mostly completely submerged and FEMA says it will take YEARS to recover from the damage. Many are without power and many families are completely locked in by water and unable to escape. I have been reading twitter SOS requests of families locked in their homes with the water levels rising so high that they risked drowning and most only narrowly escaping when Emergency Units finally arrived....

Dear father, please protect the people who are suffering in the region of which Hurricane Harvey struck, give them strength to endure this difficult time and draw them closer to you. Please provide them food, and shelter, protect them from disease and protect their health. Gaurd their hurting spirits and give them hope keep their heads up and help them to recover from this tragic disaster. In the name of Jesus I pray.. Amen.

We have been praying for you. The whole nation has taken notice of your suffering. We held a church-wide prayer for Texas yesterday. May blessings and peace fall on you.

God, forgive me for taking comfort that there are people suffering worse than me, especially this disaster. How to grasp the devastation these people must be feeling is hard. The fear they must be feeling. Lord, I don't know what to pray for. The obvious things like safety, but after that, hope. May petty differences people have with each other be forgiven by each other as they seek to embrace each other and keep each other emotionally afloat. May you use this situation to divinely save people from what would otherwise be certain death/loss, and use it to establish a relationship with you. May rich benefactors donate money. May your big spirit be with your children, pulsating peace.

Tomorrow is a national day of prayer. Believing restoration for people's of destruction, repair of lives, and rest of those lost. Abba Father, according to Galations 4:6 we call upon thy help, healing, and rebuilding of Texas, in Jesus name. Just as spiritual stroms, bring healing to the wounded, hurt, and the verbally abused, healing and health, peace and love to the lives, and hearts of your people. Amen, amen.
