Dear Christian Chat Member,

I am in need of prayer. Let me explain the details. For over a week I have been sinning because I have been experiencing lustful temptation (pornography). I will not go into detail with the sin that I have committed. I have been asking God for forgiveness and yesterday I had asked God for deliverance. When I was asking God for deliverance my body was trembling and I was speaking in tongues.

This morning I had woken up in my sleep. I was laying in my bed and I felt that my soul/spirit was on fire. I was extremely hot, as if I was burning (fire). I do not know why my spirit/soul was burning (on fire). After a few minutes the feeling passed away. Currently I am not experiencing physical sickness.

I am requesting prayer because of the situation I had encountered with what I had described in this prayer request. I can not explain why my spirit/soul was burning as if it was on fire. God bless.

It sounds to me that you are being convicted of this sin and that you should repent. I have said a prayer for God to deliver you from temptation and bring you to a place where you won't want to commit this sin anymore.

I have prayed for you my friend. However, I must say this to you as well.. I disagree with the other reply in this thread. The sensations you felt were likely things that your mind conjured from the guilt you've been feeling over this. The truth is that I don't believe your actions are so sinful to warrant such wrath which you describe. Be repent, sure, but know that we all sin, time after time. It is our human nature to do so. The difference is simply that we acknowledge when we do something we feel is wrong and are repentant for having done it. When you feel these sensations, try to clear your mind and remind yourself that they are all just that; in your mind. I dealt with extremely severe anxiety for a long time and I can tell you from first hand experience that our minds are powerful enough to manifest physical sensations and feelings of all kinds. Stephen, James 4:7 says to 'Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.' Resist is an action verb, meaning actively resist. You are listening to the devil, while being tempted in the flesh. Since you are born again, you have the Holy Ghost living in your new man, your new spirit. But, you still have a soul and flesh. They didn't change. They change by renewing your mind and tapping into your sprit. Let your soul be influeced by your sprit and not your flesh. It's your choice since you are giving the enemy an entrance into your life.


My prayer for you is 2 Peter 1:2-3 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, seeing that His devine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.
