Pray for the victims of the shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas today. Last I heard 26 were killed (including the shooter?) and others were injured. The dead include the pastor's daughter. The ages of the dead ranged from 5 to 72. I heard a 6 year old is in the hospital having been shot four times...

I'm not sure what the statistics are on church shootings in the US, but this could possibly be the one with the most casualties yet. I might be wrong... Does anyone know?

Regardless, I think we all are aware that this is something becoming more common in the US recently, and we need to also pray for our own readiness and response. We like to pray for revival, but no one prays for something like this. Yet, God could certainly use it for that purpose and turn this act of utter wickedness around completely. Only He knows. It is not the time to be lazy in our faith.

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(Isaiah 41:10)

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more deathor mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new..."
(Revelations 21:4-5a)

Lord Jesus....We are so grieved by these senseless acts of violence in our country & world. It is almost beyond belief that our world has turned so violent within these past few years. Our hearts cry is to come together in unity during times like this & pray that Your arms of love & comfort would rest upon those who are grief stricken with loss of loved one, and those who have been wounded physically. May Your healing touch come & surround all these families & the community where this shooting has taken place. Lord, You see the despair, hurting, grieving and Your heart feels the pain of all dealing with this. Lord, may Your Kingdom come, and You Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven! We pray that the enemy who is behind these act of violence would be bound, as his days are numbered. Our hearts cry is that this will not happen again, but it keeps happening. More then ever is this a time, where we as Christians need to be dressed in the spirit, clothed with the armor of God daily. We need to be the light of Jesus for all those who are hurting, devastated, lost, and in bondage. Help us to shine Your light brighter & brighter with each new sunrise. Lord, You have overcome this world & darkness will not have the last word, but You Lord REIN on High. There is healing in Your wings, Hope, Peace & Redemption! We will keep our eyes on You Lord, no matter how dark this world gets, You Light of Truth will continue to be a beacon of Hope to all who call upon Your name. May the enemy be silenced! & May Your light continue to shine in the darkness! In Jesus name!

I was at church last night, and the pastor interrupted the order of service to pray for revival, an awakening of those asleep in their faith in Christ, and praying for the countless and increasing number of victims due to evil in this world. The enemy wants to destroy, and he is looking for weak links to do his bidding. Therefore, let's build each other up, not shoo one another off or demean.

"Lord, break the strongholds that hinder fellowship in unity of Holy Spirit. Draw your people together in heart and prayer and in action, so to serve you more intentionally and helping those in need more accurately. And Lord, we are all in need... of You... and each other, as the Body of Christ.

Thanks for how you save souls and can reach beyond our comprehension into hardened hearts.
But when criminal, devilish deeds are done, and taking life/lives--- Lord, why?
Why not Intervene before it happens? We all may wonder this at times; still, you are
Sovereign and Holy and you know the details of now and eternity.
What looks to be the end, (the cross), can point people to abundant Life (Jesus).
Likewise, these monstrosities, whether in country sides or cities, they can somehow draw people to prayer.
And yet many will use this time to curse the One who Loves and Knows our pain.
People will say, "My children"-- but don't you say the same thing? "My children. My dearly loved ones..."

Yes, you are able to understand the shock and grief. You know the brutality towards the innocent.
And you know what it is to endure mockery and disbelief. Lord, were it possible for you to Lose, you seem to lose the most.
But, ah, You are the Victorious, Almighty, Everlasting, Amazing and Interceding Father of Love.
You know the loss, but you also hold the Victory.

Therefore, help us to press into you, more than we push into others for why all this happens.
Help us to follow the example of Christ, the full expression of your great love.
And while we try to sort through an ocean of pieces, give us peace-transcending.

Lord, those who are really the victims, those who know them.
Those who knew the killers-- before they killed.
Do a Mighty Work in them.

In Jesus' name, your will be done--
and help us to Overcome,
even in the face of evil acts.
But even in the comfort we can experience as familiar.

Remind us, Lord, "I am with you."

Amen.
